Joey and I met in the summer of 2012. He was the assistant swim coach for my sister Bella’s swim team, and I attended one of her meets where Joey first spotted me. One Facebook message later, and the rest is history! We spent that summer going to Applebee’s and Pinkberry Frozen Yogurt, until Joey officially asked me to be his girlfriend that fall. The years that followed were shaped by growing up side by side. We celebrated getting our drivers licenses together, spent countless weekends cheering each other on at high school swim meets and cheerleading competitions, and helped one another decide which colleges to attend. Joey went on to Michigan State University, while I stayed in Philadelphia and attended Drexel University. Long distance was hard, but after thousands of dollars spent on airfare and countless hours on the Michigan Flyer, it was all worth it. After college, we moved into our first home together in Holland, PA, and adopted our sweet and beautiful puppies, Stella and Gunson. We filled our home with so much love, laughter, and memories that made it truly ours. Eventually, our shared sense of adventure led us west, and we packed up our life to begin a new chapter in Denver, CO. On September 13, 2024, Joey surprised me with a weekend getaway in Vail, CO. He drove us to the top of Piney River Ranch, dropped down on one knee by the lake, and asked me to marry him. We were surrounded by the stunning Gore Range Mountains… and a moose! Of course, I said "Yes!" We spent the rest of the weekend soaking up our engagement in Beaver Creek, one of my absolute favorite places on earth and nostalgic to my childhood - to be loved is to be seen! After 13 years together, we are so excited to begin the rest of our lives as husband and wife. We know our life together will continue just as it always has; full of unwavering love, constant support, celebrating each other’s achievements, encouraging big dreams, and finding the greatest adventures in everyday moments.
