We're getting married!

How we met: We were great friends in high school, but after graduation went our separate ways. A few years later we reconnected and it was as if no time had passed at all. Some flirtatious banter was exchanged back and forth over coffee for weeks, even after Joseph moved to Santa Barbara for school. We went on our first official date hiking the Bob Jones Trail to Avila Beach and getting some lunch. After talking for hours (which felt like minutes) we discovered a mutual love of travel, music, and a good breakfast burrito — the rest was history! Along the way: So far we have checked off most of our travel list (adding more all the time), welcomed two fur babies into our family, and moved into our first home together! Playing board games, going to the beach, and cooking and baking together is how we love to spend our time! We have also started a tradition (accidentally) of leaving social events early to grab a burger at In-n-Out (happened multiple times before we noticed the pattern). The proposal: As our love grew and we gained new experiences, Joseph knew that Madi was the one he wanted to navigate life with. He bought the ring months in advance, keeping in his right jacket pocket, waiting for the right moment. That moment came on a trip to visit her parents in Missouri. Joseph enlisted the help of her parents to pick out the perfect spot and time. Madi's dad was so excited, he almost gave away the surprise multiple times. The time finally came, and Joseph nervously got down on one knee and stuttered out "Will you marry me?" Luckily, Madi said yes! After a year and a half of engagement (and planning procrastination!), we are so looking forward to starting this new chapter together, and can’t wait to celebrate with all of our favorite people!
