Question

VERY IMPORTANT!

Answer

Please text Leyla or Joseph the address of your lodging in Volterra so that we can arrange for your pick up with the shuttle company. If we do not have your address, we can’t have you picked up!

Question

Which airport should we fly into?

Answer

The closest airports to Volterra are the Florence and Pisa airports. Volterra is located about an hour from each place. We will be flying into the Florence airport!

Question

What is the best way to get from Florence to Volterra?

Answer

The best and easiest way to get from Florence to Volterra is via prescheduled car or a shuttle bus. Public transit is an option but it’s not the most reliable or comfortable way to get from point A to point B according to our planner. I will provide the website to book a private car or shuttle in the “Travel” section of our website. Shuttles that seat up to 30 guests are roughly €550 each (roughly $20/person if we fill the bus). We have one bus booked that will be leaving Florence on 9/14 at 1 pm from the Santa Maria Novella train station. Please let Leyla or Joe know as soon as possible if this is something you are interested in joining in on in case we need to reserve a second bus!! Renting a car is another option, driving in Rome & Florence is intense but the countryside shouldn’t be too rough! This would be a good option for people who want convenient ways to get around Volterra in their free time as taxis are very limited.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

We will be providing shuttle service for all of our wedding events in Volterra, but if you would like a little more freedom while there, please visit the car & scooter rental site linked in the “Travel” section of our website! Cabs are very limited and only available when pre-scheduled.

Question

How will we get to your wedding from our lodging?

Answer

On the day of the wedding, shuttles will pick up guests from where they are staying between 30 and 45 minutes before the event (if you are staying within 20 min from the venue). At the end of the night, there will be three shuttles that will drop guests off. The shuttles pick up at midnight, 1 AM and 2 AM. Because Volterra is so small, there are not really taxis or Ubers on demand so if you would like to travel at different times than those offered, taxis can be pre-scheduled. We will also offer shuttle services on the day of the Welcome Dinner and for the Recovery Pool Party.

Question

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Answer

If you have a dietary restriction, please let either Leyla or Joseph know so that we can tell our wedding planner ahead of time!
