Hannah & Joe met their junior year of high school in 2014 after having the same world history class. They didn't cross paths much and didn't know each other very well. They stayed on their own courses and pretty soon Hannah was off to Philadelphia University for college, and Joe was off to Okinawa, Japan as a new Marine. It wasn't until three years after meeting that they reconnected when Hannah attended a Panic at the Disco concert and Joe reached out after seeing her posts. What was light conversation in the beginning spiraled into late nights, early mornings, and eager butterflies. After almost a year of this, Hannah & Joe committed to their relationship in the fall of 2017. Thus began their long-distance relationship which, over the next 2 years, would span eight countries, four continents and more time zones than they've sat down to count. In 2019 - Hannah graduated from PhilaU with a BArch in Interior Design and Joe returned state-side for the remainder of his military contract, settling in North Carolina. Phew - only three states away and the same time-zone! They made trips visiting each other and began the first partially "in-person" part of their relationship after spending the former two years seeing each other only once a year. It was a time of learning and growing for both of them as Joe began the process of transitioning out of the Marine Corps back to York, PA as a civilian, and Hannah started her career as an Interior Designer in Baltimore, MD. In the spring of 2020 - Joe's enlistment ended and he came back to York, PA - in the midst of a pandemic - where he and Hannah spent almost every day together. Now after three years of a long distance relationship, the time had paid off and they were finally able to see each other whenever they pleased. The pandemic, though challenging in many ways, allowed for quality time spent at home meeting new family and spending time with new friends. And, most importantly, it gave them the opportunity to bring their cherished and beloved son, Sir Charles Brokenring of York (aka "Towels") home. In late 2020-2022 - Hannah and Joe moved in together where they navigated the remainder of the pandemic, finding new jobs, spending time with loved ones, and maturing their relationship. Days were spent going for long country-road drives for quality conversation, eating the same meal at Roburritos, and Joe educating Hannah on virtually every historical event. Nights were spent watching Seinfeld and Breaking Bad, eating Roma's pizza during UFC fights, and Hannah rambling about her workday. They traveled to New Hampshire for lake-side views, Maine for mountainous hikes and grape soda, and Tennessee where Hannah discovered she loves country music and Jamey Johnson. These years would turn out to be formative to their individual and collective growth. In March 2023 - Joe proposed to Hannah with the ring they designed together from Adam's Jewelers, a local jeweler where Joe's mom bought her engagement ring, and the namesake of Hannah's oldest brother. The jeweler that helped them was even named Joe! The proposal was on a windy day at High Point Vista in Wrightsville, PA. Hannah and Joe would often take walks here on nice days so it was much to her surprise when Joe got down on one-knee and proposed. It was a wonderful moment that almost didn't happen because Hannah wanted to go to Boot Barn instead. IYKYK. Joyous celebration followed her enthusiastic "Yes!" when their closest friends and family came together for an engagement party that evening. They were embarking on their next journey as a couple. The remainder of 2023 - Hannah and Joe began their wedding plans around an incredible trip to Japan bringing their relationship full circle from long-distance conversations in 2017. They look back fondly on the foundation those years afforded their relationship and are looking forward to this next journey together.
