Maid of Honor
My name is Dakota (aka Kody)! I have the absolute honor of being the maid of honor, and more importantly, I’m the proud baby sister of the gorgeous bride. It fills me with joy to (very soon) watch my big sister begin this incredible new chapter with her amazing fiance Joey. I’m excited to see the love they share continue to grow and deepen as they take on life together, side by side. I can't wait to be there to celebrate their love, cheer them on, laugh (probably cry), and soak in every beautiful moment with our friends and family.
Best Man
Hello my name is Keenen Smalls and I am the brother from another mother/best friend/money consultant and Best Man of the Groom, Joseph Frazier. I met Joey in high school, and on the first day I can tell the man was cool and hilarious to be around. We shared a bond through basketball that would grow to be way much more. He actually hit me in my face with the ball on our first day of gym together! You guys can expect me to be as supportive as possible as my brother takes his next step in life to being a great husband, and I wish him nothing but the best!
Bridesmaid
Hey hey everybody I’m Jalaya aka Lay and I am one of Chey’s bridesmaids. I met Chey back in college around 2015. Our bond began as line sisters but God had plans for us to turn into best friends/family which made Joey family as well. I can’t wait to witness this union that I got to witness from beginning to now. Watching the growth has been heart warming and I am grateful to be part of this journey. On the wedding day you can find me somewhere sneaking in a nap because you will catch me on the dance floor allllll night dancing and spreading laughter/ good vibes!
Groomsman
Wassup, y’all. I’m Jalen, Joey’s little brother and groomsman. We've known each other for 10 years and counting. We met in college at Virginia Union University in 2015. I want to give a shout-out to Joey and Chey for making me part of their celebration! A fun fact about our relationship is that both Chey and Joey helped mold me into the young man I am today. They were a positive guide and most importantly family. I love that I can come to them about personal matters and thoughts. Joey and Chey, I love you both dearly. Thank you for tolerating my foolishness and also being there for me when no one else was. When I lost my mom you guys were the first to lend a hand and support. Love you guys so much. On the wedding day, you can find me dancing like a fool and making people laugh. Also, I want to embrace & celebrate my friend's love and new marriage.
Bridesmaid
Hi everyone, I’m Eugenie! I am a bridesmaid but I am also the Groom’s younger sister. My favorite thing about the soon-to-be weds is how they light up when they see or talk about each other, how much they care for each other, and their humor. You can find me witht the other bridesmaids, at the bar, or buffet!
Groomsman
Hi everyone my name is Joe Green and I am Joey’s Groomsman. Joey and I met in high school in Brooklyn. We were basically rivals! We have a lot in common, both named Joseph, from Brooklyn, and we are Guyanese. We got close during our time at VUU and been rocking ever since. He was a great groomsman to me for my wedding. Expect me to be on the dance floor and getting the party live!
Bridesmaid
Hey heyyyy, my name is LaTia I’m a bridesmaid and the hostess with the mostestttt! Cheyanne and I met at work in 2020. I had to force her to be my friend, might I add LOL and I met Joey through her of course. It is such a pleasure to be a part of the wedding after seeing them rekindle their love! On the day of the wedding just expect VIBES, It’s a celebration of my bestie becoming a WIFE!!
Groomsman
What’s up everybody, my name is Ron. Joey and I go way back — we met freshman year at VUU and have been tight ever since, about 14 years now. One of my favorite (and funniest) memories has to be us banging on the Philly guys’ doors, yelling “Traaappp!” If you know, you know! A fun fact: we’re both Virgos — but honestly, we’re night and day. Still, that balance has always made our friendship strong. On their big day, I’m showing up with nothing but good energy, good vibes, and ready to help with whatever the soon-to-be weds need. Joey, thank you for always being a solid friend. It means a lot to be part of this special day for you and Cheyanne. Love you, my brother — I can’t wait to celebrate and make more memories with y’all!
Bridesman
Wassup all, the names Ryan and I’m thee man apart of the bridal party. I first met Cheyanne in August 2014. When we got to know each other, I discovered we were both nerds! That was my favorite part about her. We were in almost every class together competing for the top spot. Sometimes you won, sometimes I won, but I knew ultimately she was the VICTOR. For 10+ years we’ve been in each other lives and Cheyanne has taught me how to be a true friend. The accountability and the acknowledgment, also being able to be vulnerable. I will always have her back, and I just genuinely love that she is my friend. Throughout the years, I've seen Joey grow into an even better man for my friend Cheyanne. I have nothing but love for him too. At the wedding, I’m the guy you will be laughing at one second, then asking for another round of tequila at the bar!
Groomswoman
Heyyyy I’m known as Tovie and I’m a Groomswoman! I’ve known Joey since middle school but we ended up going to VUU together (found out through the Facebook VUU group chat). From there we built a really good friendship. I met Cheyanne in college when my mom told me she had someone she knew who was going to Union and that person was checking to see if I was on the dean's list and was giving her my grades (that was a lie lol). Cheyanne and I got more familiar after one of Cedys shenanigan parties lol. And turns out she’s been living downstairs from my cousin in the Bronx for years… I mean… years! (small world) They not going anywhere lol! I really love Joey and Cheyanne and it makes me emotional to see Joey so happy and dedicated to his life. I never seen more fear in the man to do the right thing… And it makes me even more happy to see the glow Cheyanne carries because it’s apparent she’s being taken care of. At the wedding yall can expect me to be myself… maybe a little loud… cheering everyone on… chilling, dancing, and grooving. And during that time I’ll be very round… expecting a boy! God spare life! See you guys soon!
Groomsman
Hi everyone! I'm Joey's big brother from another mother for the last decade and then some. Joey is not just a friend, homie, or dude from the block in my life! I met Joey and Chey at Virginia Union University but I knew Joey since his freshman year. I remember when I made Joey and his crew donate to those in need on chilly or hot days to show them that being humble at all times will always pay off in the end. We would give clothes, blankets/covers, hot chocolate and tea, snacks, etc, downtown RVA, Henrico, Short Pump, etc. Joey was the only one who was willing to complete the task without any attitude. I thank the newlyweds for allowing us all to come and rejoice and part take in a night that will never be forgotten! Always stay grounded, spiritual, & pure in both realms at all times, ASE! I expect it's going to be vibrant, memorable, and refreshing to see young black love displayed at its best.
