Check out the Golden Triangle of Art! This trio of world-class museums—the Reina Sofía Museum, the Prado Museum, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum—makes Madrid a global art capital.
One of Joe and Aspen’s favorite places in the city :) Explore the numerous gorgeous gardens in the park, and make sure you stop at the Palacio Cristal, and the Puerta de Alcalá (at the entrance).
Iconic plaza! While this is a great place to grab a cocktail, we would strongly recommend getting off the beaten path for the *best* food. Both the food and prices are quite touristy in these larger plazas.
Great place to try a bunch of local foods! (One of many, but this one is Aspen’s favorite!)

Stroll along Gran Vía (arguably Madrid’s most popular street) to get to Plaza España. Think of Gran Vía as Madrid’s Time Square. Touristy, busy, but beautiful, and iconic to the city.
Now for the most important part. If it's your first time in Madrid, we’d recommend trying these foods: gambas al ajillo, tortilla (an egg and potato dish, best served at El Pez, or Búho), hot or cold octopus (Pulpo), bocadillo de calamares, most definitely a plate of iberico jamon, and churros con chocolate for dessert. For the alcohol drinkers in the room, try these beverages: tino de verano, and vermut (this is not vermouth like you get at home), local wine and canned beer - anywhere and everywhere :) Cheers!
