States and Joselyn first met at young adults at Newspring Church in the spring of 2021. States was finishing up college at Coastal Carolina University and Joselyn was completing her first year of college online due to covid. One of the first memories they have of each other is when the young adults group went to play kickball one afternoon and States tore his ACL. Joselyn, with a hidden crush on States, rushed to get him ibuprofen and ice. Years later, in the tail-end of 2023, States was traveling from a wedding in Florida back to Myrtle and decided to ask Joselyn to dinner in Savannah, GA (where she lived at the time) to catch up. She said YES! And there, birthed the re-connection love story of States and Joselyn. After 6 months of long-distance dating, Joselyn moved back to Myrtle Beach to pursue her film career and be closer to her friends, family and States. Fueled by the Holy Spirit, energy drinks, outdoor activities and goodwill thrifting- this love will never fade. Thank you Lord for knowing when the right time is.

Did you know on January 6, 2024, Joselyn was traveling back from Puerto Rico and had a 7 hour layover in the Atlanta airport. States was in Atlanta for the Passion conference and bought a random plane ticket to NYC, went through TSA, and surprised Joselyn at her gate when she got off the plane. Then drove her 6 hours home to Myrtle Beach so she wouldn't have to sit in a layover. (Don't worry- he got a refund for his ticket)
