Our story begins back in January of 2022, when Josef was thinking of canceling his CatholicMatch subscription and was going to give it just one more day. As life would have it, that very next day Josef saw Savannah as a suggested match, clicked on her profile and decided this was a gal he wanted to get to know. They started messaging, and at first, Savannah played very hard to get....she had a full dance card and not much time for Josef. So Josef, decided if he really wanted to have a shot with Savannah, he was going to have to roll up his sleeves and get busy with pursuing her. It was not too long after this that Savannah began to free up her dance card to do weekly video chats with Josef and agreed to let him visit her in March. On his way out from that first visit to Omaha, he asked Savannah a question that changed everything...."Does this mean I get to call you my girlfriend?" To which she replied "Yes!" It led to a spring and summer full of road trips back and forth between Omaha and Quincy with many memories shared, with their love for each other growing along the way. As the miles increased, so did their love. Soon enough Josef and Savannah both had the inkling that this person was the one for them....they knew the way you just know about a good melon. Josef asked Savannah if she would join him to go ring shopping. They visited with a sweet lady named Sandy who helped them find the perfect ring. With the ring in hand, Josef set off with planning the surprise for when he would pop the question and found a good way to catch Savannah off-guard since she knew it was coming. He picked her up from work one Friday in July. When they arrived at the house, she bolted out of the car to retrieve a gift card for dinner. As she ran into the house, she was met with a gigantic card which read.... ~~~ To the world you may be one person, but to one person you are the world. To me you are perfect. Since you came into my life, you have given me a joy that I have never felt before. With you, I find love that I have never known before. I know I can't give you the world, but I can give you my heart, my love, and my affection. I promise to always be there for you, to encourage you, to inspire you, to love you. I am truly blessed to have you as a part of my life. The reality of being with you is better than anything I could ever dream of. I'll end by quoting the person I love the most: "You are the peanut butter to my jelly... the butter to my toast...the pepperoni to my pizza...the chocolate fudge to my ice cream sundae." We are blessed for this journey which God has called us to and look forward to having our family and friends join us as we begin our new life together.
