Like many great once-upon-a-times, Jose and Laura's started unexpectedly. What began as a casual friendship between two strangers who happened to be at the same place at the same time in Canton, Georgia, quickly turned into something neither of them ever expected—something more meaningful than they could have ever imagined. Between laughter, late-night talks, true friendship first, and plenty of memorable moments along the way, (including one of their first dates; in which they found themselves stuck in an elevator together) Jose and Laura realized they had something truly special. And one late-fall evening, their love story officially began. The *surprise* Engagement February 28th, 2026 Jose and Laura had just celebrated their 3 year anniversary when Jose surprised Laura with a trip to the romantic Chateau Elan. After a day full of time together, coffee, and couples massages ended with a romantic walk through the Rose Garden Vineyard at sunset, where Jose got down on one knee, and started their journey of marriage together. Here's some things they love about their venue: The Tate House has quietly been part of both of their lives for years. Laura attended pre-K just five minutes away from The Tate House, grew up in her childhood home ten minutes down the road, and fell in love with Jose just twenty minutes from these same grounds. Jose used to drive past it on his commute, never imagining that one day he'd be waiting at the end of its aisle for his bride. Some places choose you long before you choose them.
