Jazmine and I met just two years ago when I started teaching at Thomas Jefferson. Jazmine is a 4th grade teacher and at the time I was a 3rd grade teacher. It seems like we started talking one day and just never stopped! We became very close and we even got to work the 2025-2026 school year together when I was moved to 4th grade! Jazmine has helped me so much this past year with not only teaching, but in life as well. I can truly be myself around her and I am so lucky to have her stand right by my side on the most special day of my life!

Best Man
My best man is my younger brother, CJ, and having him stand beside me means more than I can put into words. Even though he’s the younger one, he’s been a steady, loyal presence in my life and someone who has supported me, challenged me, and made me laugh when I needed it most. We grew up side by side, sharing memories, mischief, and moments that shaped us into who we are today. Choosing him as my best man wasn’t really a choice at all; it was the most natural decision, because there’s no one else I’d rather have by my side on this day.

Courtney is my amazing sister-in-law! I've said this many times before, but I never wanted a sister because I never wanted to have to share things. However, when my brother and Courtney started dating almost ten years ago, I changed my mind on the whole sister thing. Courtney has been there for me when I needed her and she made me realize what I missed out on (but gained through her) with not having a sister. I could not have asked for a better sister-in-law and I suppose I have my brother to thank for that! I'm so happy she'll be standing with me on my big day!

My other best man is my best friend, Stefan, someone who has been a constant in my life through every season. We met our freshman year of college when we got randomly assigned as roommates. We’ve shared years of jokes, adventures, and unforgettable memories that have shaped our friendship into something closer to family. He’s the person who always shows up, ready to help, ready to listen, and ready to push me to be better. Having him stand beside me on this day feels right because he’s been beside me in so many of life’s moments already. I’m grateful to have a friend like him, and there’s no one I’d trust more to be my best man.

Natalie and I met the summer of 2018 when we were both working as camp counselors in Bolingbrook. We (luckily enough) got put in the same group and became super close friends! Natalie is the kindest, most thoughtful person I know and she has been a constant in my life these past 7 years. When something isn't going right in life, she is the first person I turn to. I wouldn't trade our shopping and Chili's dates for the world! She is an amazing friend and I am so excited to have her stand right by me on this exciting day!

Danny is Jorie's brother and my future brother-in-law. From the beginning, he welcomed me into the family and we bonded instantly over our love of sports. He's someone I respect, someone I can laugh with, and he has supported my relationship with his sister over the years. I'm so incredibly lucky to not only be gaining a wife but to be gaining a brother as well. I'm grateful to have him stand by my side on this special day.

Quinn is Jack's sister and my soon to be sister-in-law! We met a few months after Jack and I started dating and I knew with her sense of humor that we would get along just great! Quinn is not only my future sister-in-law but she has become a great friend. I appreciate the kindness and humor that Quinn adds to any situation. I am grateful to be gaining such a great sister-in-law and lucky to have her stand by us on our special day!

Michael is one of my oldest friends. We have known each other since we were two years old and have literally grown up together. We spent many years playing together, laughing together, and getting into trouble. He knows me better than most and has been there through the highs and lows, always ready with support, advice, or a laugh when I needed it most. Having him stand beside me on this day is a reminder of our long standing friendship and the many moments that have shaped who I am today. I couldn’t imagine celebrating this big day without him by my side.

Olivia and I met through softball we were about 8 or 9 years old. We played on the same team for a few years together and grew to be close. She became a part of the family very quickly and was like the sister I never had...or wanted (kidding). That sibling relationship came with many ups and downs but she has been by my side through it all and I wouldn't trade it for anything! Olivia's is getting married 3 weeks before me and I am lucky enough that I get to stand by her side on her special day but even luckier that she will be by my side for mine!

Alessandro is another one of my oldest friends. We have known each other since we were about two years old. Our bond was forged on the fields and courts where we played baseball, soccer, and basketball together. From early mornings at practice to unforgettable games and endless competitions, we’ve shared countless moments of teamwork, laughter, and friendly rivalry. Those experiences shaped not only our friendship but also the people we’ve become. Having him stand beside me today is a reminder of all the memories we’ve built together and how lucky I am to have a friend who’s been with me through so much of life’s journey.

Sophia is my oldest friend, we met when we were in the same third grade class together. The story goes that one day at recess I was sad about something and sitting off to the side and Sophia came up and asked if I wanted to play with her and the rest is history! We became inseparable since she also lived around the corner from me. We walked to and from school almost every day together and were always hanging out. We say when we think of our childhood, we think of each other. We always said we would be each others bridesmaids one day and I couldn't wait to ask her to make our "childhood goals" come true! I wouldn't want to go through this day without her by my side!

Adam has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, my neighbor and friend. Growing up next door, we spent countless hours playing, exploring, and getting into mischief together, building a friendship that felt more like family. He’s seen me through so many stages of life, and having him stand beside me on my wedding day is a way to honor all the memories we’ve shared and the bond that has lasted all these years. I’m grateful to have him by my side on such an important day.

Brooke and I met just a couple of years ago when I became a new teacher. I had to attend orientation and Brooke was a second year teacher that they brought in to answer any questions us new teachers had. I found out her mom was the secretary at the school I was at and Brooke came to visit often. We became close, bonding over teaching and our love for the Jonas Brothers. She always gives the best advice and has been there for me through some of the most stressful times in my life these past two years. I know I can always count on her and I am so excited to have her stand by my side on the big day!

Matt is a friend I met later in life through working for the Chicago Cubs, and our friendship quickly grew from shared fan interactions and teamwork into something much deeper. Over time, we’ve supported each other through challenges, celebrated successes (with champagne showers and Thursday happy hour), and found ways to make even the busiest days enjoyable. Having him stand beside me on my wedding day is a reflection of the trust and camaraderie we’ve built, and I’m proud to have him here, sharing in one of the most important moments of my life.

Charlotte (8) and Evan (6) are Jack's younger sisters. They joined the Hlava family around 2021 and have brought such joy to everyone around them. They are sweet and caring girls who can make anyone laugh. We are so happy to have them be our flower girls.

Carson Laurie Hermosillo is the newest member of our family! She was born December 6, 2025. She is our first niece and the first child of my brother, Danny, and sister-in-law, Courtney. We love her so much and could not imagine a cuter flower girl/ring carrier!

Amy is my cousin and our officiant! When thinking of who to ask to marry us, the first person that came to mind is Amy. Being in theater and teaching, Amy is used to performing and speaking in front of large groups of people and we thought she would be the perfect person to marry us! Growing up, Amy and I bonded over our love for Taylor Swift, cats, and girly things. Amy and I have gone to three Taylor Swift concerts together and hopefully there will be more in the future. I couldn't be more grateful that Amy agreed to be our officiant and I can't wait to share this special moment with her!
