With all of the dating apps and different profiles, finding the one seemed impossible. Until the summer of 2020, when the world was shut down due to Covid and meeting people the "traditional" way also became impossible. To the dating apps we go! July of 2020, while swiping through the app, I came across the profile of a cute guy who liked sports, had a picture with a cat, and was 6'0", that's all I needed to see in order to swipe right. While scrolling, Jack says my profile caught his eye because I was a White Sox and Bears fan (and he thought I was pretty). Not too long after swiping right, I saw that we had matched! To those unfamiliar with Bumble, the girl has to message first in order to start a conversation. I decided to take a chance and send a simple "how are you?" message to Jack. From there, we had a great conversation and exchanged snapchats. We talked and talked and eventually facetimed for the first time. It was like we had known each other forever. We talked about sports, travelling, our families, and school. Eventually, Jack drove down to Illinois State so we could go on our official first date (cheese pizza and fries). I then drove the following weekend to meet him in the city for another date (here he realized I was not equipped to drive in the city) and we became official! Fast forward five years later, in May of 2025, he proposed in Downtown Naperville on the Riverwalk. We have had so many adventures together the last five years, but we are excited for our biggest one yet, marriage!
