FAQs

If you have any questions other than what we’ve listed here, please reach out to our wedding planner, Michelle, at (504) 603-0104 or michelle@michellenorwood.com
Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

Festivities will start on the evening of Friday, March 29th and end Saturday, March 30th, 2019, but you are welcome to come before and stay longer (enjoy yourself - it's New Orleans and there is tons to do!). See our "Things to Do" page for some local tips, or feel free to ask us (especially Jorge).

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

For the wedding, we are requesting a more formal, cocktail attire (suits and ties for men; cocktail or evening dresses for women). For Friday night activities, we'd also suggest festive, cocktail attire, but slightly less formal (dress shirts and sport jackets (optional) for guys; cocktail dresses or jumpsuits for women. No jeans or sneakers, please). Check out the venue here if that is helpful: http://raceandreligious.com/. Also, all Saturday events will be outdoors, so be sure to check the weather.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes! if not, we would prefer if it was just you.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We are planning for wedding activities to be adults-only. Come, relax, and have fun! However, if you need babysitter or nanny recommendations, let us know and our planner can help recommend local, trusted options.

Question

What are the transportation options?

Answer

Our recommended option is Uber/Lyft (apps). These services are easy and reliable, and since everything is relatively close in New Orleans, this is a fairly inexpensive option. You can also take the street car from uptown to downtown and walk to various landmarks in between. Most of the places we recommended on our 'Things to Do' page are grouped by areas and are relatively close to one another. As such, Nola is a pretty walkable place. A second option is to rent a car, though bear in mind there is only street parking at the wedding and some of the hotels, and you'll need to find parking if you head to busier areas in the city.

Question

What is the weather like in New Orleans?

Answer

The weather is really mild and lovely in late March and early April. We would expect for it to range between the upper 60's to 70's during the weekend we've selected, but it can get a bit cooler than that at night or warmer during the day. We hope the weather will cooperate (knock on wood), but as a subtropical climate, there is an occasional rain.

Question

What is there to do in New Orleans?

Answer

So much! We love this city and hope you will, too. Check out our "Things to Do" page for great ideas, ranging from sites, tours, live music, and local cuisine.
