Wedding Party

Meet our people of honor who will be walking down the aisle on our special day. <3

Terri Doezema

Matron of Honor

This is my oldest sister whom I've gotten the nickname of being her mini me! She chose my middle name, has cared for me for much of my life, looked out for me, protected me, stood up for me and given me her honest advice about life. I have the blessing of being an aunt to her 3 adorable children, Violet, Lacey and Jack. Terri and I share the love of nature, yoga, sunshine, creativity, reading, writing, the beach and just the simple/peaceful ways about life. A couple of my fondest memories with her were when she would do my hair when I was little and our times at our family cottage laughing/talking or reading on the beach. I would not be the person I am today without my siblings in my life and I know they will be there until the end. I couldn't be happier to have Terri stand beside me during the most special moment of my life!

Joya Foster

Maid of Honor

Joya is my other sister just 3 years older than me! We were the siblings that fought the most growing up. I was that annoying little sister that wanted to copy everything she did and she was that big sister that knew how to push my buttons, LOL. Through the process of our sibling rivalry evolving into the becoming of mature adults, we always found ways to come together and connect/respect each other no matter the differences. We share a love of Jesus, similar humor, the outdoors, adventure, camping, hiking, the beach, reading and animals. A couple of my fondest memories with her were skydiving for the first time together and traveling to Hawaii. I would not be the person I am today without my siblings in my life and I know they will be there until the end. I couldn't be happier to have Joya standing beside me during the biggest moment of my life!

Jessica Butgereit

Bridesmaid

Jessica and I met in our homeroom class during the start of 7th grade. I don't even remember what started it all but I think it had to do with our common interest in country music and laughter. I just remember us laughing all the time about so many different things and still do to this day. We hit it off and as I got to know her, her family welcomed me into their lives as if I was just another member of their family. One fun fact is that everyone else calls her Jess but for whatever reason once I met her, I called her by her full name and since then could NOT get acquainted to switching to Jess, so now between her and I, she is Jess(ica). We have been through so many ups and downs and life transitions but she has remained a consistent, unwavering friend and supporter through it all. She is the friend I can count on to be there until the end. Fun Fact: It is really cool to say that her and I are just so happening to get married 2 weeks apart. She was first to get engaged and without forcing it to happen, it worked out that I also got engaged and chose a date 2 weeks later. She will be Jessica Thigpen at my wedding and I could not be happier to have her stand beside me during the most amazing moment of my life!

Violet Doezema

Flower Girl

Violet is the sweet girl that made me an aunt! I can't believe she will be 8 already by the time of the wedding. I still remember her as a little toddler with fuzzy blonde hair and chubby little cheeks like it was yesterday. I have been blessed to have watched her grow, learn and explore the world. She is so smart, silly, kind, helpful and cares for others and animals! (She takes after me with her passion for furry friends :) Her smile lights up a room and she knows how to make you laugh. Though there are tons, one of my favorite memories with her is when we'd do eachothers' hair. She loved it when I'd french braid it for school. I am thrilled to have her be part of our wedding day!

Lacey Doezema

Flower Girl

Two adorable nieces are better than one! This little 4 year old cracks me up like no other. Don't let her shy presentation fool you for too long. She is so smart, witty, blunt, and tells you how it is. Though I wasn't as outgoing as she was when I was little, she does remind me of myself in her shy demeanor and the physical resemblance too! Her and I also share a passion for animals, especially horses. I have been blessed to watch her grow, learn and explore the world as well. Though there are many, one of my favorite memories with Lacey was when she napped on my chest as a baby. She was the first newborn that I recall ever actually wanting to cuddle with me. I am ecstatic to have Lacey be part of our wedding day!

Zakk Sharron

Best Man

Zakk is my closest cousin on my dad’s side whom I look at as an older brother and we share pretty much everything in common. Zakk has always been someone I’ve looked up to and learned a lot about the little things in life such as: health, sports, relationships, and the most important thing in life which is a relationship with God.  Some of my best memories with Zakk have come in the sports world and helping me overcome some of my fears. I remember when we played together in both football and basketball and anytime, we are on a team, we seem to just know what the other person is thinking and it’s an incredible chemistry, yet we never practice or play together often. Back in 2019 I remember when Zakk and I met up in Connecticut and went to something called “Air Jordan’s” which was an indoor ropes course. Me being afraid of heights and Zakk knowing this, kept pushing me to give it a shot and at every level would tell me it was alright, and we’re almost done even though we weren’t close Haha. That day he helped me overcome some of my height fear and I’m now excited to go back and do this again with our ladies.

Noah Graham

Groomsman

Noah is my only brother who is 24 years old. Him and I have had our brotherly love battles growing up and we never were super close until he got to be a senior in high school. Noah and I now are close and have a lot of things in common that we can talk about and even do together. We share our love for college football and NFL fantasy football together. We enjoy going to certain venues and getting some good food to chow down on while we watch our teams play. We usually take part in fantasy football every year with a group of people that we know and there’s always back n forth talk about who’s going to have the better week. Usually, I win 😉 Haha.  We also share a passion for exercise and keeping each other accountable if we start to fall off track a bit. Even though he’s my little brother, Noah has always been a blessing to me in many ways and has helped me along my own weight struggle journey immensely. One of the best memories with Noah was probably this year when he came to me in sometime early March 2022 and asked if I had to work a certain day because he wanted to go to Indianapolis for the March Madness tournament. I thought that was super cool of him to bring it up since usually it’s me trying to invite him to a basketball event since that’s my favorite sport.

Kyle Hoek

Groomsman

Kyle is the second oldest cousin on my moms’ side and is just under a year older than me. He is someone I also view as another brother. Kyle and I have grown up doing so many things together, including picking on his oldest brother Josh. Haha. We are the only Michigan State Spartans Fans which is probably why we’re both the smartest in our cousin group 😉 We have always shared doing a variety of different things together and always hanging out when we could. I would usually go to his mom and dad’s place to stay over, and we would ride bikes down to our grandma’s house and hangout with her for the day. We both enjoy playing basketball together and have always had a special chemistry when we do. Even to this day I could have Kyle on my team, and we just know one another’s spot on the court, and we always communicate which makes things run much smoother in pick up ball.  One of my best memories with Kyle is when we used to play horse and pig for cards and cash. Our parents never knew about this lol. I would always somehow lose in those games but could beat him maybe a little more in a one on one. He would say differently, but we all know it’s true.

For all the days along the way
