Wedding Party

The ladies and gents we are lucky to have in our lives.

Cathy

Maid of Honor

Cathy is my cousin, but I've always thought of her as my sister. We grew up together so she has been through it all - the ups and downs, whenever I need to vent or scream, the successes and failures. We've had so many rolling on the floor laughing moments that I can't even remember them all - although the best one was over gummy bears on the D train platform after a night of Botanica happy hour and Roti Cani at Nyonya. Cathy is a phenomenal person. She is kind, selfless, and one who will always protect her crowd. Cathy deserves the absolutely freaking best and I will be waiting on the sidelines to always cheer her on for her future successes, as she has been there for mine. I can't imagine not having her by my side on this day.

Zachary

Best Man

Zach is my older brother and best man. He's been with me through highs, lows, and everything in between, serving as a source of guidance and wisdom throughout. I owe so much of my intellectual development to Zach, although I'm more of a Pinky to his Brain. Zach is a man for whom Thomas Jefferson's sentiment, 'I cannot live without books.' holds. For myself, it is better to say, 'I cannot live without Zach.'

Crismely

Bridesmaid

Cris and I go waaaay back - back when her name was still Grismely (funny story - ask her) so she will always be Gris to me. I met Cris back in tenth grade in our French class where she took it seriously and I most definitely did not. Cris is the type of person who is always 10 minutes early while I'm always 10 minutes late, but never holds it against me (usually). She is my rational compass, my math OG who still make sure I calculated the tip right, my fellow "greasy grandma" dumplings and Noodle Village date whenever I'm back in NYC. We've been friends for more than a decade and we always joke that we'll be friends until we're old and grey and in our 90s. Here's to the next sixty decades Gris.

Kirby

Groomsman

Kirby and I met more than a decade ago while the two of us were students at LSU. We were very different people back then, animated by differential geometry and Bahamut's Lagoon. By chance, our next steps led us to that crossroads of the world, NYC, him as a Master of the Universe on Wall Street, me as a broke graduate student at Columbia. Those were great years, and I still remember fondly our karaoke nights and the parties with his wonderful wife Natasha's amazing family. I was flattered to be included in the wedding party at Kirby and Natasha's wedding, and I'm grateful to have him as a member of mine.

Noelani

Bridesmaid

If Noelani and I hadn't met at the start of college, my 20s would've been more colorless and I wouldn't nearly have such a deep appreciation for sunny side eggs. I'll always fondly remember our late night studying sessions at Druckenmiller that were broken up by moments of sheer terror when we'd jump scare each other outside the bathroom. I'll never forget our many moments of laughing so hard until our knees collapse and dancing like nobody's watching at those typical college parties. To say I absolutely adore Noelani would be a complete understatement. She is the kindest soul I know. I can only imagine how she is as a nurse and future nurse anesthesist. Noelani taught me to how to be a better person and I'm humbled to call her a best friend.

Mike

Groomsman

Mike and I met during our grad years in NYC at Columbia. We couldn't have been further apart in background: me, an upjumped yokel from the South, him, a cosmopolitan polyglot from Hong Kong. Despite that daylight, we found common ground over an inordinate love of McDonald's, feasting on over-processed food and great conversation. Mike is a remarkable guy, both in what he has accomplished and in who he is. Thankfully, he's moving back to the Northeast next year, so I'll have plenty of civilizing lessons before the wedding.

Tracie

Bridesmaid

Tracie was my freshman roommate & I will always thank Bowdoin’s algorithm for giving me a friend for life. We've grown up together - navigating through college life, surviving the NYC dating scene to find our respective partners (hi Sean!), and having the most fantastic summer in 2014 with Mols, our other roommate on Sullivan Street. Tracie is the person I go to whenever I want to complain, especially about trivial things because she gets me but I can always count on her to steer me right - in truth and in grammar. What a woman Tracie has become - from the girl who had five+ morning alarms AND leaving me sticky notes to wake her up (I still have them) to starting her career at a renowned law firm. Our lives sure isn't like The Holiday but we’re quite all right with that, right Trace?

Connor

Groomsman

Connor and I met as officemates during in first year at Columbia. We were truly two of a kind in that office, bonding over our love of low culture. That remains true to this day, as Connor is my guy when it comes to the Chili Peppers, Flashman, and weightlifting. Our interactions since grad school have been much more episodic, living as we have on opposite sides of the country or even different continents. I still remember fondly our time together in Zurich, hiking the Zurichberg, swimming in the Zurichsee, even skinny-dipping in the Limmat. I look forward to many such incidents in the future.

Terence

Bridesman

I joke that Terence is the little devil on my shoulder, always guiding us into mischief. But I wouldn’t have it any other way because my four years at Bowdoin would’ve been drastically duller without him. I can always count on Terence to make me laugh until I cry, sneak into events with free food, or be the first ones on the dance floor when Missy Elliot’s Work it plays in Maine. I’ve seen him go from Wolf boy through The Transformation to who he is today - working full time while getting his law degree. He’s seen me go from Rat Queen to finding my GI Joe. We’ve done a lot of growing up and wiser but our friendship is one of those that will always pick right back up where we left off. If you know Terence, you know he’s one-of-a-kind. I’m so very grateful to have the honor of knowing him.

Rachael

Groomswoman

Rachael is my younger sister and sole groomswoman. The two of us have shaped so many of one another's interests: math, running, Final Fantasy (yes, we're giant nerds). I've enjoyed leading the way as we each chart a course in mathematics, just as I've enjoyed eating her dust when we lace up our running shoes. Rach's focus and tenacity are a huge inspiration to me, and I can always count on her to set me straight when I'm slacking. I'm incredibly proud of what she has accomplished and who she has become, and I'm filled with anticipation when I consider what her future holds.
