House Or Rental
The Happy Valley Lodge is located just next door to the Conservatory, and has space for up to 27 guests in lovely self catering cottages. We have booked the main house for family, and some of the other places have been booked by friends. Please inquire privately if you would like, but please note, as it is a holiday weekend they are only taking 3 day bookings.
Flight
The easiest (and really only option) is to fly into Cape Town International Airport, which is a very modern, and manageable airport with connecting flights from around the world. The airport is about 20 minutes from City Bowl (downtown), and about an hour from Franschoek. We would recommend booking flights early so that you can get the best deals! Personally we recommend using Hipmunk, as it is great for visualizing and organizing your flights and price matches all other websites.
House Or Rental
There are tons of AirBnb options in Cape Town that cater for all budgets for the week or weekend before the wedding. In terms of locations, we will be staying in City Bowl (downtown), and would recommend neighborhoods such as Vredehoek, Oranjezicht, Gardens, or Tamborskloof. Green Point and Sea Point are also very hip neighborhoods with lots of bars, restaurants, and great ocean views. However, if you want to stay somewhere a bit more relaxed and out of town, Hout Bay, Constantia, and Newlands have some nice options. We also love Muizenberg, if you want to stay by the beach with the hippies and surfers.
House Or Rental
Another recommended option for staying in Franschoek for the night of the wedding is La Chataigne, which is only a few minutes away from the venue. They offer self catering guest cottages that can sleep up to four people.
Rental Car
It is very easy and affordable to rent a car at the Cape Town Airport. We would highly recommend renting a car, as public transportation in Cape Town is not the best, although Ubers are quite affordable... just be ready to drive on the left!
