Hi Everyone, It has been over a year since our last update to you all, and what a year it has been. But, we have happy news to share now. Its official! We have a date for our wedding celebration. In honor of our new home in the southwest and new appreciation for the mountains, we have decided to change the venue. We will now be celebrating our marriage on Friday, May 27th, 2022 at Mountain View Ranch in Pine, CO. With respect to the pandemic, we have also chosen to modify our guestlist. If you don't receive a new invitation, please don't be offended. We still love you! We just also need to stay safe. Additionally, we request that anyone who does chose to attend be vaccinated against COVID unless you have a medical contraindication. If you choose not to get vaccinated, please stay home. As always, we hope you are staying safe, happy, and healthy. Love, Jordan and Rachel
Friends and Family, It is with much sadness that we have decided to cancel our wedding for the time being. Don't worry! We still love each other and are very much committed to spending the rest of our lives together. Unfortunately, it is just not safe right now to have any sort of large gathering. Our number one priority is for you, our loved ones, to stay safe and healthy. Given the uncertain times and difficulty in knowing when it will be safe to gather again, we have decided to cancel rather than continually postpone the wedding. We feel this will be safer and much less stressful for ourselves, our guests, and our vendors. We hope to plan something again when we are not in the midst of a pandemic, but we are not sure what that will look like. We will be sure to keep you all updated as we figure things out. In the meantime, stay safe, stay healthy, and whenever possible, please stay home. Love, Jordan and Rachel
Friends & Family, We never thought we would be talking about a virus on our wedding website, but we would be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge the situation and share where things are at. Currently, a novel coronavirus type is devastating the world. This is a highly contagious virus. While many will not become seriously ill from this, those over 60 and those with health conditions such as heart or lung disease are most at risk from critical illness and death. Some of you, our close friends and family, fall into this high-risk category. We want to do everything we can to keep you safe. All public health organizations are in agreement at this time that social distancing is the safest thing we can do to protect one another. Given this information, it is with heavy hearts that we have made the difficult decision to postpone our wedding. We have every intention of still having a wedding, but we just dont know when that will be. We will make sure to let you all know as soon as we do. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. With Love, Jordan & Rachel
Rachel arrived in Memphis, fresh from NYU, and Jordan meandered westward from Hendersonville; both eager to start pharmacy school. They knew the academic path ahead would be difficult, but neither predicted the personal and emotional growth that would accompany them. One fall weekend in the foggy hills of Tennessee, they met each other as they mingled with their new fraternity. Sitting around a fire, they discussed their past and their future, innocent of the spark igniting between them. They left that weekend with new friends and new possibilities. It only took a few months for the spark to mature into a flame warming their hearts through winter. True love stories weave drama and tranquility into one narrative and this is no exception. The showers of spring quenched the young flame and split one path in two. Time and space apart afforded the individual growth needed to understand that flames burn up, but seeds foster new life. The seed they planted would soon blossom into a thriving friendship, and that friendship would become a foundation for their love. Love is strong, but fleeting. To protect their love, they tempered it through two more years of pharmacy school, two years of residency for Rachel, a new job for Jordan, and life’s myriad peaks and troughs. Jordan admired the brilliance of what they built together; so on April 6th, 2019 he offered a ring for Rachel’s hand in marriage. She said yes. The couple are delighted to be getting married at Old Dominick Distillery, which not only makes some of the best spirits in Memphis, but is also attached to the restaurant where they committed to spend their lives together. They cannot wait to celebrate their love and commitment to one another, in the company of their family and friends. Hope you are ready to party!
