Best Woman
A tried and true friend, Whitney met Stacey through lots of mutual friends + interests over the span of several years. It wasn't until 2017 that an ultimate frisbee group brought Stacey and Whitney closer. Stacey is a hardworking artist & is one of the most fun and interesting people Whitney has ever had the pleasure of knowing. When Whitney returned from a summer in Denver she told stories of a fella she met at the Phoenix airport as they shopped at their favorite plant store (Evergreen, we're looking at you!!) and enjoyed being reconciled after a summer apart. Whitney told stories of how Jordan was so sweet and spoken so highly of by the folks he worked closely with. Stacey has been their since the beginning!
Best Man
“A day draws near that I have looked for in all the years of my manhood, and when it comes I would have my friends beside me" -J.R.R. Tolkien, "The Lord of the Rings" Truest of friends to Jordan, Adam came to know him in the seventh grade. The two went to the same school & found that they, unknowingly to that point, lived on the same street. The two quickly kindled a strong bond of fellowship. Adam & Jordan lived together for their first three years at ETSU. During that time, the two shared in countless adventures, trials, & life-changing events. Jordan was there when Adam met his wife, Megan, & Adam was there to give Jordan a nudge out the door & pursue Whitney openly. Through many years marked with joy, sorrow, & hope alike, Adam has always stood beside Jordan as a faithful friend.
Bridesmaid
What a friend!!! Emily + Whitney came to know each other through mutual friends and the music department at ETSU. Emily is Whitney's most hilarious friend with a passion for all things interior. Emily and Whitney have so many fun memories together, from hiking around the Buffalo Mountain campgrounds to weekend visits in Atlanta, where Emily is currently rooted. Emily has shown so much encouragement and love to Whitney + Jordan throughout their relationship and has been the greatest cheerleader. Emily always puts others first and has a way of bringing people so much joy, the future Kuykendalls cannot wait to celebrate with Emily by their side.
Groomsman
"I would have followed you my brother, my captain, my king." -"The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" Though he is neither Jordan's captain nor his king, Joshua is indeed his brother - a brother that he is proud to call his own kin. Of all his groomsmen, Jordan has known Joshua the longest. Joshua has been there through all that life has had to offer. He has seen Jordan fall, he has seen him behave like an utter fool, and he has seen Jordan follow the Lord and be restored by His grace. Above all, one thing always has been true of Joshua - he has held fast to his family through all things, and he has ever loved and proved faithful to Jordan.
Bridesmaid
Megan was one of the first to catch that something was going on when Jordan spoke often of a girl named Whitney he met over the summer. This past May Whitney + Jordan stood by their sides as they joined in marriage. Now they are excited to reverse the roles and have the Floras celebrate with the soon-to-be-Kuykendalls.
Groomsman
Michael was there the day that Jordan met Whitney. There in the Sky Harbor International Airport, Jordan met the two friends who would prove so important to him. After several days in Phoenix, Whitney ventured off to Denver while Jordan & Michael journeyed to the Pacific Northwest. Jordan & Michael lived together for the duration of that summer in Portland; together they explored the land, labored in engaging the people of the city, endured through uncertainty and hardship, & grew in enjoying the Lord. Michael continued to prove a faithful friend & mentor after the two returned home. It was Michael who encouraged Jordan to make plain his heart to Whitney, and it has been Michael (among many other faithful friends) who has continued to care for & support the two in their journey.
Bridesmaid
Whitney + Alyssa shared a hallway at Camp Ta-Pa-Win-Go where we served as counselors summer after summer in high school, and during the school year spent countless lunches together all throughout high school. Whitney has always loved how honest and caring Alyssa is toward those around her, and how she is always down for coffee. Alyssa loves Dunkin Donuts more than about anything else and Whitney doesn't hold that against her... and that is friendship.
Groomsman
It was late one summer evening during the Little Chicago festival of 2017 when Jordan & Aaron met. Some friends (Whitney included, of course!) were together at the old Dos Gatos building when Jordan arrived. Jordan & Aaron formed a quick bond & were friends from that day on. Aaron has journeyed with Jordan & Whitney on many adventures; he (along with Emily Ducko) was there with them when the sun turned dark in the eclipse, he ventured with the two (along with Emily, once again) on their journey to Sliding Rock, & he was there alongside the two as they stepped into the journey of their relationship. Always filled with mirth and goodwill for friends, Aaron has always proved a faithful friend to Jordan & Whitney .
Bridesmaid
A lifelong friend, Emily + Whitney have practically grown up together. From adventures on group hikes to late nights at Sonic all the way to earning the same internship at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Whitney has always cherished Emily's genuine spirit and diligent friendship.
Groomsman
It is a good day when a man gains a brother, and it is a better day still when he gains a brother with a keen mind and faithful heart - so it is for Jordan as he eagerly looks forward to the day that he will be able to call Wesley his brother. Jordan met Wesley following the summer that he met Whitney, and he was quickly aware of the quality of the friend he had made. From the moment that Jordan knew that he would marry Whitney, he has been glad for the new family that he would gain in the Andes' - not the least will he be glad to hold Wesley as his own kin.
Bridesmaid
Whitney + Paige shared a home for nearly three years, went on countless trips, and share so many hilarious memories together. One time Paige pepper sprayed a Kleenex and then wiped her nose with it while they were in Whitney's car stuck behind a train. This is a good summation of their friendship. Whitney loves how tried and true of a friend Paige has been and always loves recalling stories of experiences they share.
Groomsman
In a truly trying & challenging season of life for Jordan & Whitney, Jonathan & his wife, Cari, have proven instrumental in aiding the couple with friendship & guidance. Whitney first met Jonathan & Cari through their coffee roasting business (if you, reader, have yet to try Telos coffee, then let this stir you to do so!). Soon, both Jordan & Whitney were connected with the couple &, in a time where they were on an uncertain path of finding their church home in Johnson City together, Jonathan & Cari helped in shepherding them into Christ Community Church. Jonathan has shown himself to be a faithful friend & spiritual mentor to Jordan throughout their friendship, & Jordan eagerly looks forward to growing in friendship with Jonathan & the Muse family in the years to come.
Bridesmaid
What a FRIENDDDDD!!!! Whitney met Bekah in Denver, CO where they were roommates for a summer. Bekah is one of the sweetest, most kind and considerate friends. Whitney and Bekah spent many days in Denver drinking coffee, kombucha, eating donuts, doing yoga, and eating too much ice cream.
Bridesmaid
Whitney met Cari and her husband Jonathan through working at Dos Gatos. Telos Coffee has brought two of the truest friends to Whitney + Jordan, and they could not be more thankful. Cari is passionate, enthusiastic, and so so so genuine. What a friend.
