Our story began in February 2021, when workout classes meant masks and hand sanitizer. Jordan was coaching an OrangeTheory workout class Tori was taking. He appeared mic’d up and full of energy, while Tori powered through sprints and silently judged his playlist. She thought he was a total social butterfly; he assumed she lived at the gym. (WRONG!) A little while later, we reconnected and planned our first date — a walk along the Ocean City, NJ boardwalk. Somewhere between the salt air and Jordan’s hands turning purple from the cold, we discussed going to the same high school without ever crossing paths. Tori was in the marching band playing trumpet, and Jordan was on the football field — two ships passing under Friday night lights. Life clearly waited for the perfect timing to bring us together. Though we are opposites in plenty of ways, we somehow balance each other perfectly. Jordan sits through musicals (and gives his unedited review after), while Tori bravely watches horror movies — with one eye open. We can’t wait to say “I do” surrounded by our favorite people — celebrating a love story that started behind masks, pushed us outside of their comfort zone and continues to get better every day.
