Our journey started in one of the most unexpected ways, a study abroad trip to Spain. During our senior year at Oklahoma State University, we were both a few humanities credits short of graduation. Without ever having met (Jordan was in Stillwater and I was in Tulsa), we both signed up for the same trip. When we landed in Spain, we were randomly placed on the same team for a city scavenger hunt. Later that night, during a cab ride with a few friends, we started talking more. Jordan mentioned he was from Michigan. I said "Oh, I've been to Michigan! Do you live anywhere near Spring Lake?" He laughed and said, “Yeah, I’m actually from Grand Haven, just a few minutes away." A small world moment that felt like more than coincidence. That week in Spain, we spent time getting to know each other. Once we returned to Oklahoma, we kept seeing each other, trading weekend drives between Tulsa and Stillwater. Just about two months later, we both graduated, and Jordan moved back to Michigan. By October, I made the move north, too. It took some time to adjust to the cold gray winters, but now Michigan feels like home. And it's true what they say, you can’t beat a Michigan summer! In the last eight plus years we've both moved a few times, gone back to school, settled into a home, gone on lots of fun trips, and brought our dog Murphy into the mix. It’s been an amazing adventure so far, and I can’t wait for all the adventures still to come. In April of 2025, Jordan proposed on the beach in Saint Martin. Now here we are, ready to celebrate this next chapter with all of you. We can’t wait to share our special day with the people who have supported and loved us along the way.
