We’ve known each other awhile and met through mutual friends and our love of music. We’ve kind of lost track of the time and some of the details, but let’s just say that 2015 was a big year and May 21-24 was pretty special. After months of asking her to date me and Jordan saying “no,” one day I said to her, “It just makes sense – we’re both going to DelFest – riding together and camping together – we might as well be dating." It was that Memorial Day weekend looking back that we decided to become best friends. It was a magical weekend, filled with good friends, laughter, and bluegrass music echoing throughout the Appalachian Mountains. There was definitely love in the air that year at DelFest. Now, after almost 8 years . . . in October, since we’ll be riding to the Eastern Shore together and camping out at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club together - we might as well get married!
In July 2021, we were in New Hampshire for a two-night Billy Strings concert and Matt decided that he wanted to do a morning hike on Mt. Major. When we got to the top of the mountain, there was this beautiful view overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee. We stood there a minute, then Matt got down on one knee, held my hand in his, and took a small box out of his pocket. My heart was pounding. He asked, “Jordan, will you marry me?” I could hardly speak, but replied, “Is that the ring I picked out?” I think I said, “yes.” And, I think he said, “yes.”
