Mark and I’s love story started long before either of us even knew it. Not only did we both grow up in Lexington, but we actually grew up in the same neighborhood just down the street from each other for most of our lives! Neither of us can remember ever crossing paths, but we must have at some point. Fast forward a bunch of years, and we both end up at the same bar, Centro. No words were exchanged that night just a few looks. A couple of days later, I got a DM from Mark and a few weeks later, we went on our first date! Mark showed up at my door with flowers and took me to dinner at Proud Mary’s. The date was going so well that we decided to keep it going with a trip to Buc-ee’s ,LOL, because I had never been. And, in true “Woeste” fashion, we ended the night with a stop at Graeter’s Ice Cream. After that first date, we both knew this wasn’t just a casual thing. There was only one problem - I was moving to Arizona for at least a year. We ended up doing long distance for two years, and all I have to say is; if you want to, you will. Mark flew thousands of miles to see me, and we got into a good “FaceTime date” rhythm that somehow made the distance feel a little shorter. Eventually, I found out I was moving to Alabama—and honestly, I was thrilled because that meant I was only a six-hour drive from Mark instead of a plane ride away. That started the era of long drives, late nights, and lots of happy weekend visits. After those two long years, I finally moved back home to Lexington. We were so happy to be in the same place again. Then came the proposal...something I may or may not have been very eager about. Mark proposed on August 16th, 2025, at Talon Winery (where we also took a bunch of our engagement photos!). What I thought was just a girls’ winery day turned out to be the most thoughtful surprise. Even though there was only a 5% chance of rain, it started downpouring right when we got there. When the rain finally stopped, we started taking photos, and out walked Mark from the vineyard. The second I saw him, I knew what was happening. It was the sweetest, most perfect day. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with all of you!
