Kimberly Bress

Maid of Honor

Kim and I met in the lobby of a Knoxville Hilton on March 7, 2014. She was sporting her signature blue power blazer. A week later, I emailed Kim to ask if she would like to be college roommates. The rest is history. With 4 years lived together, the memories are endless, but some of my favorites include our night at the flamenco in Madrid, Kim decorating my room in the middle of the night with a headlamp, and holding hands at Soccer Taco when frustrated over silly boys. Kimberly Bress is my friend soulmate. I love her more than most people love their friends.

Maggie Harmon

Bridesmaid

Maggie and I met in Kindergarten in Mrs. Malinda Tingle's class. We did not like each other. The tides turned around in the 7th grade where the dislike grew to a tolerance. But high school? Thick as thieves. My favorite memories of Maggie involve our MANY creative endeavors, including GISHWHES scavenger hunts, co-starring in a high school play, and creating a film adaption of The Highwayman poem from our English class, just because. We are the ultimate "enemies-to-BFFs" storyline--period!

Allie Worsdale

Bridesmaid

Allie and I met in 2020 while we were both pursuing our PhDs in Communication Studies at the University of Georgia. She has been my rock while living in Georgia and surviving the ups and downs of graduate school! My favorite memories with Allie are our regular manicure gossip sessions, scheming about new ways to be a girl boss, and obsessing over our shared love of dachshunds. Allie entered my life when I needed a true friend the most, and I will love her always for it.

Tess Boring

Bridesmaid

Tess is my younger cousin, and we have spent our whole lives being spoiled relentlessly by our Grannie and Pooh. What started as a childhood of constant bickering has transformed into an adulthood of love and laughter. Some of my favorite memories of Tess including yearly beach trips, changing Grannie and Pooh’s answering machine to say we were holding them hostage, and driving our mothers absolutely mad. Tess is one of the most tender hearted, hard-working people I know. I wouldn’t not want another person as my cousin!

Samantha Hillard

Bridesmaid

One of my day one priorities for finding a future husband was making sure he had a sister, and I got the best one in the world with Samantha! I look forward to a whole life of memories with Samantha, but so far, I’ve loved our bonding over RuPaul’s Drag Race, trying out new wines, and getting to be an aunt to her precious James and Zoey. I cannot wait to have a sister, and I am getting the best one out there!

Landry LaFevor

Junior Bridesmaid

Landry is the daughter of my first cousin Jenna, but she still fondly refers to me as “Cousin Elle.” The relationship we have is very special to me, as it is reminiscent of the relationship I had with her mom, who is 10 years older than me. My favorite memories with Landry are water gun fights, singing Tik Tok songs, and spicy food taste tests. Landry reminds me to live life a little more authentically everyday. I only hope I can have such a positive influence on her as well.

Cade Wiberg

Groomsman

I met Cade sophomore year at JMU in a class called “History of Rock.” We quickly became friends by discussing all our favorite albums and bands. Soon after we began sharing our own attempts at songwriting and before long we were recording tracks almost daily in my dorm room. We also bonded over an interest in movies. For more on that you can listen to our (incredibly lugubrious) podcast "Marvel Sucks vs. No it Doesn’t" which has run for nearly 120 episodes.

Seth Clark

Groomsman

During orientation Freshman year at JMU, I saw Seth at one of those getting to know each other type events. I thought, “He looks just like the nerds I normally hang out with; I should meet different types of people.” I was completely right about him being a nerd but was completely wrong to try to hang out with anyone else. We ended up living together sophomore year and became fast friends over a shared interest in early YouTube sketch comedy. Like I said, we’re nerds.

Nick Bonaffini

Groomsman

Nick was Cade’s roommate and the drummer on the songs we were recording. Nick and I bonded over our love of playing music. After graduation Nick and I roomed together for about 4 years and jammed daily. We’d start a song with no plan and, via practiced telepathy, we would improvise verses, choruses, bridges. You can hear the music we made together at https://abstractthreats.bandcamp.com/album/tributaries. I consider the music that I wrote and recorded with Nick to be the best I’ve ever made.

Alex Rohr

Groomsman

I met Alex through Cade and Nick. Alex roomed with Nick and me after graduation and is an excellent keyboard player who would join in on our jams. Alex and I shared an interest in visual media and obscure internet rabbit holes. Nothing is too niche, experimental, or pointless to be beyond our interest. For instance, we once developed a daily habit (which spanned months) of playing chess while watching the William Shatner police procedural, T.J. Hooker.

Jack Hillard

Groomsman

Jack is my sister Samantha’s husband and a wonderful father to their children, James and Zoey. When Samantha first brought him home during my senior year of high school, I challenged him to a foot race while we were waiting in the driveway to leave for dinner. It was a really close finish but its not important who won (I won), what's important is that it was a very silly thing to do.
