On Memorial Day Weekend in 2024, we had planned to go to Berkley Springs, West Virginia for a nature getaway. We had great weather and played lawn darts and cooked chicken on the grill. Little did Jordan know, Caleb had brought a ring and was planning on proposing to her that weekend. While Jordan was preparing all the necessities for an elevated picnic dinner (which ended up being delicious), Caleb got down on one knee with a ring in his hand and asked Jordan to be his wife. She asked, "Is that white gold?" making the both of them laugh (this was a good thing because Jordan really wanted white gold and Caleb remembered: what a good man!). We spent the rest of the weekend in a Roman bathhouse and getting massages at the nation's oldest spa in Berkley Springs, followed by shopping at cheese shops and getting dinner at a local restaurant featuring local Appalachian ingredients.
We had both grown up in Brookville but didn't cross paths until 2016 when we were both living in Pittsburgh. We first met on the Schenley Lawn by the Cathedral of Learning in Oakland. Caleb later asked Jordan if she wanted to grab burritos sometime. Even though she agreed to grab burritos, she ended up getting a quesadilla instead. Jordan still hasn't grabbed many burritos since then, but we started dating shortly after our first date at Mad Mex in Shadyside in 2016.
