COVID 19 Update

7 - 24 - 2020

UPDATE: Due to an increase in COVID-19 cases we have decided that for the safety many we are drastically reducing the number of guests to family only. It saddens us all to not see many of you on this special day. We are currently drafting letters to all the guests with this new change. With this in mind, we would love to see all of you for our 1 year anniversary. Details to follow.

How We Met

Jordan and I began dating at the start of 2012. However, we met years prior during our sophomore year at Oak Ridge High School. I was walking home from school and I recognized a young man from class waiting on the side of the street. I thought he was cute and decided to introduce myself. I said, "Hi, we have English class together. I'm Annie." We shook hands and talked for about a minute before I continued on my way home. I could feel myself blushing as I walked down the street. It seems rather simple, but that day stuck with me. For the rest of the year, we exchanged smiles and occasional conversations. Fate brought us together again during our junior year in history class. We became friends that year while discussing our hobbies, goals, and other random things teens spoke of. When I broke my ankle at swim practice (dry land), I was in crutches for a month. One rainy day, he offered me a ride home. Imagine this, its raining and I have no umbrella. I had to wrap my jacket around my cast and try not to slip on the wet ground. Jordan gave me his jacket to wear, walked with me in the rain down the street to where his car was parked, helped me in the car, out of the car, and carried my backpack into the house for me. I still smile remembering that. During senior year we had no classes together, but when I saw him for the first time in months, I threw my arms around him in a hug. Later that day, I saw him walking home and decided to offer him a ride. After that day, we started going over to each others houses, we met each others family, and started dating in January of 2012.

How he asked!?!

Right! Sit back, and relax as I take you on this magical, never before told story of the Lil Wabbit and her BB. . . Yeah, that's her nickname for me. BB! BB!?! You can make whatever assumptions you want for that name, whatever that assumption is, it’s correct. Now, lets get on to the task at hand. How did I ask her to marry me? It all started with our adventure through Europe. We backpacked through over 10 countries, with no more than a weeks’ worth of clothes in each of our bags that would have to last us for 50 days. Also with us was a drone, GoPro, and a camera. With that said you could only imagine the untold number of photos and videos we took along the way. I knew with the memories we made along this voyage of a lifetime, there was only one possible thing I could do to cherish those memories forever. For what better way to start a lifetime of more unforgettable memories with the one you love than with your own movie? After 2 months of video editing, the movie was finally ready. I had both of our immediate families and one of my best friends over to Jarad’s house to show the video. I had everything ready. My mother’s first wedding ring was hidden by Jarad until the precise moment where he would hand it to me and I would get down on one knee and say those four words. The movie was an hour long, and when the end drew near my heart was thudding like a hummingbird. Anticipation grew in the room as a video of me appeared and spoke to our incredible adventure and love the two of us shared. And just like a movie, the music queued, Jarad slyly handed me the ring box, and I faced the women I would spend the rest of my life with. The words came forth from a nervous and shaking kid still in love with his high-school sweetheart, “Will you marry me?” I believe she was too excited to even say yes right away. Her trembling hand shot out towards me, and I slid the ring on her finger.
