We met on Lake Minnetonka while boating with mutual friends (Jordan’s friends from high school who Dusty became friends with in college - small world!). We hit it off immediately and spent the day getting to know each other while throwing a football back and forth in the water, both showing off each other's athletic ability ;-) A year later after swapping Instagram DM's, we finally had our "first date" at Amore Uptown on the rooftop, split a gnocchi appetizer, tossed back a few drinks, and knew that this was the start of something special! The ultimate test of our relationship was surviving those first years of border battles, a few good and a few ugly, but nonetheless we have figured out how to support each other during the toughest of seasons, and if that isn't true love than I'm not sure what is!

At the beginning of February we headed out to Colorado for a quick weekend trip to celebrate the completion of our annual "dry January", with [what i thought were] plans to spend time in Boulder with my grandparents and meeting up with Dusty’s friends from college. While we did end up doing all of that, Dusty pulled a fast one on me from the airport and we headed straight to the Hotel Boulderado where he had booked a room for the night (fun fact: my parents got married at the Hotel Boulderado!). Once checked in and settled into the room, he got down on one knee and I completely lost my cool and screamed "YES!" about a million times. It still blows my mind thinking back to this moment, because Dusty kept his cool the entire week let alone that bus ride into Boulder, I had no idea any of this was happening! The Hotel Boulderado is home to our favorite bar in Boulder, The Corner Bar, where we spent the evening calling family and friends to share the exciting news over a few celebratory drinks! Way to go, Dust!
