FAQs

Question

Should I really come to both nights?

Answer

Yes! Our wedding will be a two night celebration honoring our cultural backgrounds. Friday night we will celebrate Jonny's dad's side of the family with a Sangeet, a North Indian celebration, the night before we get married. Feel free to come in Indian formal attire OR brightly colored cocktail attire. :) The 5 pm start time is not a hard start and we will be starting with drinks, apps, and mingling before starting family dances and dinner.

Question

What are my lodging options?

Answer

If you would like to stay onsite, Talta requires all bookings for a minimum of two nights. We encourage family to book double queens to maximize our space in the lodge. We also have a room block at the Round Hearth across the street. Email merryv@roundhearth.com directly to avoid AirBnB fees.

Question

What is a Sangeet?

Answer

A Sangeet is a pre-wedding Indian celebration of music and dancing! This event will kick off our weekend of wedding festivities and our families coming together. All are welcome to come Friday July 17th, 2026, at 5 pm in the tent!

Question

What if I do not own Indian Formal attire?

Answer

Please dress in what you will feel most comfortable in, but know you are invited to dress in Indian formal for Friday night! You can wear colorful cocktail attire or Indian formal attire like a Kurta Set for men or a Salwar Kameez, a lehenga, or a Sari for women for Friday's festivities. Question

What if I have a food allergy?

Answer

Please let Jonny and Meg know on your RSVP if you have food allergies to consider. We will be serving Indian food at the Sangeet on Friday, Dominican food on Saturday, homemade Polish food for our after party, and a Jewish brunch of bagels and brisket before guests depart on Sunday.

Question

What should people do during the day on Saturday before the ceremony?

Answer

We encourage our guests to go out and explore what Stowe has to offer on Saturday before the festivities. Check out our Things to Do Page and experience some of the very places where Jonny and Meg fell in love!

Question

Do we really have the whole lodge to ourselves?

Answer

Yes! We have booked the entirety of the Talta Lodge property as well as all 13 rooms in the Round Hearth across the street exclusively for the weekend for us to enjoy. We also hope this encourages people not to drink and drive. Book your room using the information on the accommodations tab.
