Our story began over four years ago swiping on the dating app Hinge. Kate picked Kyle, because of his adorable picture of him and his dog Sydney! Their love story began with many conversations back and forth, until finally Kyle asked Kate out on their date. What was supposed to be a Thursday night date turned into a comedy of errors when Kate, accidentally slept through it after working a night shift as a labor and delivery nurse. Kyle, being the kind and patient person he is, didn’t miss a beat and quickly rescheduled for the next day. Our first official date was at Pies and Pints in downtown Birmingham. From that moment on, we knew we were meant to grow our lives together. The next four years have been filled with so much love, joy, and growth. We’ve traveled, laughed, supported each other through highs and lows, and built a life we’re both so proud of.

Kyle knew I had always dreamed of visiting Jackson Hole, Wyoming, so he planned a surprise trip for us. What I didn’t know was that his proposal plans would be as adventurous as the trip itself. His original plan was to propose at sunrise at Mormon Row, but the weather had other ideas. A thick blanket of clouds covered the sky, so he decided to put the proposal off for a day, and instead we set out to explore Grand Teton National Park. After some unexpected road closures, we found ourselves embarking on a much longer hike than we had anticipated. We hiked five miles through fresh snow to the entrance of Jenny Lake, where we were greeted by a breathtakingly quiet and pristine landscape. We couldn’t have asked for a more magical setting. After taking in the view and snapping some pictures, we continued on to Hidden Falls, where we enjoyed a peaceful moment by the waterfall. On our way back down, Kyle suggested stopping at Jenny Lake again for more pictures. As I was setting up the camera to capture our pictures, I walked back to Kyle. He turned to me, dropped to one knee, and asked me to marry him. It was the most beautiful, perfect moment, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place, or a better person, to spend my life with. We can’t wait to continue this adventure together, and we’re so excited to share this next chapter with all of you.
