A lot of people love to take credit for them meeting, but if Andrea’s brother and sister-in-law hadn’t invited her to Cape Cod Beer for a Dave Matthews tribute band show, they honestly might never have crossed paths. Andrea showed up ready for the night in her brand-new DMB bucket hat, singing and dancing right alongside her family the entire time. She remembers thinking, these guys are so great, the singer dances just like Dave, and he’s really cute! Apparently, the feeling was mutual; she caught his eye, and Brett immediately turned to his best man to whisper, “Did you see the girl with the bucket hat on?!” After an incredible night, Andrea went up to introduce herself at the end of the show. She gave him and the band so much praise, casually mentioning she had already been to 15 DMB shows total. Brett was an absolute gentleman and managed not to laugh in her face—mostly because he had already been to over 50. Everyone went home, but Andrea wasn't quite ready for it to end there. She sent Brett a sweet, wonderfully long-winded DM on Instagram asking to hang out. His incredibly smooth response? “I’m Available!” It only took three months for Brett to finally pencil her into his busy calendar so they could have their first real date in Boston at Castle Island Brewery. From a tribute band in a brewery to battleship in a brewery to everything since—the rest is history!
