FAQs

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your kids- we really do. But due to the venue capacity limit, we are unable to accommodate children. Plus, we want our wedding to be your night/weekend off! Many reputable babysitters in the Charleston area can be found on Care.com

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Only if your invitation is addressed to you and your date. We would love to celebrate with everyone possible, but we have a strict size limit.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The attire is semi-formal or cocktail. The wedding will take place outdoors, so we encourage the ladies to wear flats, wedges, or block heels, and to avoid thin heels.

Question

Can I take pictures at your wedding?

Answer

We encourage everyone to take as many pictures as they would like during our reception and to use our wedding hashtag so we can enjoy them as well! However, out of respect for the bride, groom, and professional photographer that we have hired for this occasion, we request that all electronic devices be turned off and out of site for the ceremony. Thank you for your cooperation.

Question

COVID-19

Answer

We are in a continuous process of establishing what precautions will be in place on the day of our wedding. Our venue is entirely outdoors for both ceremony and reception, and there will be plenty of space to physically distance as needed. Masks are definitely not discouraged but are also not required at this time. Obviously if you are having any symptoms, please do not come to our wedding. We will not be upset if you need to back out last minute due to not feeling well. We want all of our guests to decide on an individual basis what is best for them and to be comfortable with their decision. We will not be sad or disappointed if anyone decides not to come due to the given circumstances. We would love for you to be there, however there is absolutely no pressure or guilt for not coming! Please just let us know prior to the RSVP deadline.

Question

What precautions are being taken at the venue?

Answer

There will be a health check station set up at the entrance which will include temperature checks. Hand sanitizer will be provided throughout the venue. Bathrooms and high-touch surfaces will be frequently sanitized and cleaned throughout the event. Ceremony seating will be spaced out, allowing guests to sit by themselves or in small groups with their family members and close friends if they wish. There is no formal seated dinner. We will be having food stations and although everyone will be assigned a seat at a table, no one is obligated to sit and stay there. Feel free to pull your chair out or just set your stuff down.

Question

What precautions are being taken with the food?

Answer

Brick Lane Catering already follows strict food handling and preparation and have added extra measures to ensure the safety of our guests and their staff. Staffing ratios have been adjusted to properly and safely serve guests. Instead of stations having just one front table and everything displayed on it, we are adding another table with one Chef plating/composing the plates on the "back" table and then a server/chef, placing them on the display boards on the front table. These display pieces were made so that each plate had its individual place. All catering staff is being monitored for any COVID symptoms and are being asked to stay home if they feel unwell. Our onsite Event Captain will also be monitoring them as well. All staff will be wearing gloves and masks the entire event. Brick Lane Catering provides hand sanitizer and cleaning products for our staff. Staffing has all be prepped and trained on all new procedures.

Question

What precautions are being take with desserts, drinks, and the bar service?

Answer

There will be a plexiglass sneeze guard along the main serving window of the bar trailer. Drinks/desserts will go thru the hole cut out at the bottom. Only one guest at a time in line at the serving window. All other guests absolutely must remain 6 ft back from the trailer at all times. There will be no congregating permitted around the trailers to keep the bar staff safe. All the other doors/windows will be closed leaving the serving window as the only door open. To alleviate any lines and congregating at the trailer, we have a self serve iced down rustic metal tub that will be provided with the canned beer. This way guests can grab and go with less interaction with staff. All bar staff will be in masks, and possibly face guards, with plenty of gloves and hand sanitizer. The bar service will have a three strike rule for nonadherence to their policies, specifically congregating in front of the bar. Third strike they will pack up and leave! Please be respectful of their policies.

Question

Will the wedding be streamed online?

Answer

Yes! We will have a virtual option to attend the wedding for those who are unable to attend. Please join us at: https://evt.live/brewerse7/carli-and-jonathon-s-wedding

Question

Is there an after party?

Answer

No- unfortunately all bars and restaurants must close by 11pm due to covid restrictions.

Question

What are the covid- related rules and regulations for Folly Beach?

Answer

There is a mask mandate in effect within any business and when you are unable to maintain a 6 foot distance from others who are outside your family or household. Gathering of groups outside of your family/household on the beach is prohibited. Emergency parking restrictions are in effect for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. On these days you may park in any pay lots/spaces or you may park for free on Arctic Ave outside of the commercial district, as long as you are adhering to parking rules (all four tires off pavement, facing direction of traffic, 20’ from intersections and fire hydrants, not blocking driveways). On any other days of the week, you may park on any street with these same rules. If you are renting a property on Folly Beach, you may park in front of the house at any time with a copy of the rental agreement on the windshield. PLEASE visit the city of Folly Beach website for a comprehensive list of rules and regulations. They are actively giving out tickets and citations.

For all the days along the way
