Passport--make sure you have one! Flights--Queretaro has an intl airport (QRO). Flights from CLT cost about $500 right now (late Jan) on United or American. I recommend buying a flight that you can change free of charge if Covid issues arise. Mexico has not imposed any COVID requirements on incoming passengers from the US. I've gone back and forth by air since the pandemic started. BUT to get back into the USA you need a negative antigen or PCR test with 72 hours of your flight. Covid testing in Mexico: Antigen tests take about 30 minutes to get results and cost about $40 on site or $80 if you want the nurse to come to your location to collect the sample. Some airports have testing tents for Americans. I can look into whether or not QRO does. Once in Mexico, Uber is pretty cheap or you can look into renting a car. Waze works well. I will start coordinating movements for family soon and looking for a local friend to help guide/bus everyone if that is something you want to do.
