FAQs

Question

I've never been to a Muslim wedding before. Is there anything I need to know?

Answer

While we will be having an Islamic ceremony, it shouldn't be so different that our guests are left confused. All the normal rules of politeness apply, so don't stress!

Question

I have dietary restrictions. Will there be food I can eat?

Answer

One of the requirements of a Muslim wedding is for the couple to invite guests to announce their marriage and feed them a meal, so we want everyone to be able to eat and have a good time! Any meat we serve will be halal, slaughtered per Islamic dietary guidelines, and we will make sure there are vegetarian alternatives for our guests. If you are vegetarian or have any other dietary restrictions, please reach out to us so we can make arrangements.

Question

Are you registered?

Answer

The thing we're most excited to receive at our wedding is our guests! We don't expect any gifts. The truth is we will be living in a small apartment and won't really be able to carry much with us, but if you would still like to give us something, we would greatly appreciate anything we could use to buy the few things we need here in New York.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Semi-formal, please.

Question

When are RSVPs due?

Answer

Please let us know if you'll be able to make it before August 20.

Question

Can I bring a plus one/my children?

Answer

Please refer to your invitation!

Question

You didn't answer my question!

Answer

Well, then reach out to one of us! We'd love to answer it for you.
