This wave is what lures Jonathan back to the North Shore year after year. Checkout all the dare devils that join him on one of the most famous surf breaks in the world! I refer to it as "Pipe TV" because it's the best live entertainment you can ask to watch on the beach!
Very close to Pipeline so it's a great hike to take after taking a break from watching the surf. The entrance is at the elementary school and anyone will be happy to point you to it. Takes about 30 mins to get to the top and there's great views of the entire North Shore! *Not suggested after rain because it's extra muddy and slippery.*
Website states the following is included for $169 per person: 3-hour guided tour 8 world-class ziplines up to a half-mile long Panoramic ocean and mountain views of Oahu’s famous North Shore 2 mile ATV (6 passenger) ride to the top Rappels, bridges, boardwalks also included in tour Educational exhibits on Hawaii history, culture, and farming
There is a Food Land in Laie close to the wedding venue and others around the island. Heads up the one in Laie does not serve alcohol (Mormon town), so we suggest stocking up outside of town if you are wanting an adult beverage pre or post wedding.
Hence the name, it’s the largest of all Hawaiian islands! We highly recommend a visit if time and budget allows! Jonathan and I visited two years ago. We had a blast renting a truck that allowed us to adventure a little more to see waterfalls, caves, tidal pools, secret surf spots and not worry about the mud since we were on the rainy side of Hilo. It was crazy timing because we were there just two weeks before The Kilauea volcano erupted!
Kauai is one of the oldest Hawaiian islands. It’s personally my (McKenzie) favorite. It’s very country and feels like you’re driving through the set of Jurassic Park (in fact, some parts were filmed there! And there’s apparently a helicopter tour that tells ya allll about it) but seriously, if you’re able to make the quick plane hop over to this island ($125 round trip) then DO IT!😍
