It was a cold winter afternoon in Chicago. I showed up early to my Transnational and Global Feminisms class at Columbia College Chicago. I was sitting in my seat when this gorgeous redheaded woman, with the most bodacious booty, walked in and sat across from me. I told myself I was going to sit next to her the next class, so I did. Started small talk, eventually went to one of her musical shows, and we ended up grabbing a bite to eat. After several months of being friends, Caroline finally realized how insanely hot I am, and we started dating. My memory recalls coming to class all sweaty and gross after running down Wabash from dance class to find a class with only 3 guys. Granted, it was a transnational and global feminisms class. I took it for the easy A. The first class I see Jonathan sitting on the opposite side of the room and the next week he was sitting the next seat over to where I sat to the previous week. We become friends and I wrote him off as friends since I clearly misread his humour. After 8 months of friendship, I came to realize his jokes may have been flirting all along and there we begin:)

As most of you have seen the video... you already know ;) I came home in a rush from work to shower and pack my bags for our trip to Chicago. We wanted to get on the road and beat some traffic so I was in super focus mode when I came up to our front door and saw a note. I assumed it was a "sorry we missed you" note from ups or something so I completely ignored it and opened the door. Upon entering, there were rose pedals all over the floor and leading up the stairs and little letters labeled 1-9 and so I realized, " Oh, NOW? really?!?" I put my bags down and began to read and follow the letters which led to our bedroom. At this point I was very surprised how sweet and romantic Jonathan had been so I was preparing to open the door, which read " Now open the door slowly". Okay.. So we have been together 7 years so I known there was a surprise waiting behind the door and it was definitely going to be a joke of some sorts. Well, it was exactly that! If you are brave enough to have watched the video then you got to experience the Jonathan Grutzius being himself entirely. A quick and perfectly captured moment I will surely never forget! I look forward to continue this tomfoolery with you all at our wedding. We hope to see you there!
