Maid of Honor
Morgan is Carissa's cousin and childhood friend. Neither having sisters and living near one another, they were always very close growing up. They enjoy shopping trips, swing dancing at Fountain Square, and coffee dates. When they were younger, they established a pact that they would be "Maid of Honor" in each other's weddings. It's crazy to think that the day has come and is finally happening! They hope to maintain their friendship as they both establish full time careers and their families continue to change and grow.
Bridesmaid
Kaylie is not only Carissa's bridesmaid, but Jonathan's only sibling making this wedding extra special for her. As a recently graduated Physical Therapist, she has a lot in common with Carissa who is a current Physical Therapy student. The two share a common bond that has helped to accelerate their friendship with one another in the two years they have known each other. Carissa is of course excited to have Kaylie as a bridesmaid but she is more excited to gain a sister-in-law as she officially becomes a Shingleton!
Bridesmaid
Carissa and Natalie met in Physics class in college at UIndy. They sat at the same table for the course of the semester and quickly became friends. The following semester, they joined Emmanuel Church's young adults group called the 1824. About two weeks into the group, Natalie helped her shy friend, Carissa, be introduced to a cute boy at the group named Jonathan. If it wasn't for Natalie, Jonathan and Carissa may have never met and fell in love. Natalie has since moved to Washington after graduating from UIndy, but Carissa and Natalie continue their friendship from a distance!
Best Man
Jonathan and Christian have known each other since practically birth. They met at a very young age at Emmanuel Church and grew up together in the children's ministry. They have always shared common interests such as playing Xbox games and discussing movie quotes. In fact, Christian also works for one of the Emmanuel Church campuses, doing a similar production role as Jonathan. Most recently, the two have worked together to lead a young adult small group within Emmanuel Church. It is only fitting that Christian will be the "Best Man" in Jonathan's wedding as the two are more like brothers than friends.
Groomsman
Jonathan and Noah are cousins, but have always been close friends, as well. They are only 5 months apart in age and grew up within 15 minutes of one another. They spent their time together as children playing crazy water games in Noah's pool and inventing basketball trick shots. Noah was the "idea man" and Jonathan was just gullible enough to act on Noah's fun, but dangerous ideas. As they grew older, they developed a deeper relationship with one another in which they could talk about girls, God, and everything in between. Noah married his beautiful wife, Christine, in June of 2019 and now Jonathan follows close behind by marrying Carissa only a year later.
Groomsman
Dakota, more commonly known as "DLowe," graduated from Whiteland High School in 2015, one year after Jonathan. The two were only acquaintances in high school, but their friendship took off quickly after Jonathan started working as a production assistant alongside DLowe at Emmanuel Church in 2016. What may have been a temporary job for Jonathan as he finished college at IUPUI, turned into a full-time career and a lifelong friend. DLowe and Jonathan now have a close friendship that involves watching the same tv shows, eating at Arby's, and holding each other accountable as they grow in their walk with Christ.
