In 8th grade, Abby joined the friend group that Jonathan had been a part of since 3rd grade. We became closer friends at the start of 2016 (freshman year of high school). Towards the end of freshman year, Jonathan and Abby were in band and we got told of a trip we would be taking at the start of the next school year to New York City. People were going around and trying to find someone to sit by on the bus ride there, and Abby walked up to Jonathan and asked if he would sit next to her for the bus trip. Jonathan said yes and our friendship really started to take off. In the summer of 2016 between freshman and sophomore year Abby and Jonathan started to hang out all the time (with their friend group of course). When sophomore year started, Abby and Jonathan had some classes together. One of these was Biology with Mr. Otto. In this class, Mr. Otto made his seating chart based on last name. This meant Abby and Jonathan had to sit next to each other. This was an insane boost to their individual friendship due to the amount of partner work that they had to do (and the amount that Jonathan sucked at biology). This class is where Jonathan asked Abby to homecoming for the first time. Abby was hesitant but said yes and they ended up having a great time together! Honestly, we could say that this was actually the start of our relationship. But, neither of us asked each other out, and we stayed friends. After Homecoming 2016, we immediately went on our band trip and were inseparable the whole time. After this, we never went another day without talking to each other. From finding each other between classes to nightly FaceTime calls, we were always talking. On March 4th, 2017 Abby went to Jonathan’s house right away in the morning to help celebrate his 16th birthday. Little did Abby know, she was the only one invited. We watched movies with his siblings and hung out all day. 10 days later, Abby had a substitute teacher in her English class, they were talking about a book they were reading and explaining how every relationship in your life should have meaning and told us to take a long hard look at the ones we had and to think about why they are in our lives and how we feel. Abby’s mind couldn’t get off Jonathan and his importance. Later that night, on their nightly call, Abby finally got the courage to ask Jonathan how he felt. Jonathan couldn’t really answer the question either and they both came to the conclusion that they should in fact be dating. So, on March 14th, 2017, Abby and Jonathan officially started dating. They stayed together all throughout high school, went to college together and the rest is history.
