Big Canoe is a gated, mountain community located in the foothills of the North Georgia Appalachian Mountains. With over 20 miles of hiking trails, 3 waterfalls, 3 lakes, and numerous amenities/things to do without having to leave the gates, it's the perfect weekend getaway.

Ciera's personal favorite! There are several wineries in the area. Our favorites are Cartecay Vineyards, Chateau Meichtry, and Ott Farms and Vineyard.

Big Canoe has more than 20 miles of diverse trails, whether you're looking for a leisurely walk, a rigorous hike, a bike ride, or a one-of-a-kind Jeep Trail. There are trail guides available with detailed trail info, photos, interactive maps, and parking information to help you find the perfect Big Canoe trail.

Big Canoe Golfing offers a 27-hole championship mountain course with striking mountain peaks, rushing streams, and lush valleys. The three 9-hole courses offer a wide range of difficulty levels. There is a fully stocked pro shop, as well as practice greens and a driving range to work on your game. Daily rates are available.

Boating

Big Canoe is home to three lakes. Cruise out on an electric-powered boat rental from the Marina on Lake Petit or rent a kayak or paddleboard at Lake Disharoon.

Take out a boat or find the perfect spot on the shore for fishing. Lake Petit is known for it's rainbow trout, and both Lake Petit and Lake Sconti have bass, bluegill, crappie, and brim. Get all the gear you need and permits for anyone 12 and over from The Shack at the Big Canoe Marina.

Big Canoe has a lake with a beach and a pool with a view. The Swim Club on Lake Disharoon offers a pool, paddleboats, paddleboards, canoes, kayaks, beach volleyball, picnic areas with grills, and a popular rockslide.

Tennis and Pickleball

Big Canoe boasts one of the finest Racquet Clubs in the Atlanta Area. There are 10 courts to choose from: 4 Har-Tru Clay Courts (outdoor), 2 ClayTech All-Weather Courts (outdoor), 2 Hard Courts (outdoor), and 2 Indoor Courts. Some of the courts are specifically designated for Pickleball play!
