We met in the summer of 2019 at a church summer camp. I was leading a group of kids, and Jonatan didn’t even show up until the second week—he’d been on vacation! But, as it turns out, he had been paying attention to me long before we met in person. A few days into camp, he saw a video on Facebook of me lifting weights to entertain the kids. He thought it was hilarious, and from that moment, I caught his eye. When he finally arrived at camp, I didn’t think much of him at first. He seemed nice enough and, to be fair, was very helpful with the kids. But then he kept finding excuses to spend time with me, and it didn’t take long for me to realize he had somehow worked his way onto my team. Looking back now, I see it so clearly: he had a plan all along! Over the next six months, we built a friendship that was full of laughs, long conversations, and so many sweet moments. I started to notice how kind, thoughtful, and intentional he was—not just with me, but with everyone around him. He had a way of making me feel seen and valued, and before I knew it, I couldn’t imagine my life without him. Then, on December 22, 2019, everything changed. We were at a wedding together, and Jonatan handed me a handwritten letter. I still remember my heart racing as I read his words, realizing that he was asking me to be his girlfriend. Little did I know that six years later, he would do the same to ask me to marry him. Of course, I said yes—and from that moment on, our story has been one of love, faith, and so many unforgettable adventures. Now, after years of growing together, we’re ready to take the next step. We can’t wait to celebrate our big day with all of you and are so excited for the journey ahead as husband and wife.
