Once you Arrive: Visit the taxi kiosk that is located outside near the exit doors and give them the address to your hotel. They will give you an approximation of your fare according to your destination. The airport is a 10 minute cab ride from the Old City of Cartagena or 20 minutes to Bocagrande. Immediately outside of baggage claim there is a place to exchange money or there are ATM machines in the departures area of the airport. The cost from the airport into the old city should be roughly $12.000-$20.000 COP ($6-10 USD) There are always cabs located outside of the airport or you can pre-arrange with your hotel to be picked up directly from the airport. Airbnb House Or Rental Downtown Cartagena’s historic downtown known as El Centro, enclosed by the iconic city wall is the best place to stay if you want to see the magic Cartagena. There are also a ton of local and fine dining. Bocagrande and El Laguito Neighborhoods with a mix of high-rise hotels, condos and ocean views with a lot of restaurants both along the main strip of Avenida San Martin and off it. It also still only a short taxi ride or half hour walk from many of the main attractions in El Centro.
