The local village of Vernantes is a short walk down the road. There is a restaurant, bakery, little shops and a church. The château can provide you with complimentary bicycles to get around or organise horseback riding nearby. 

The closest town is Saumur which is a 20 minute drive away. Saumur has a lot to offer with many restaurants, shops, cafes, sightseeing, etc. There is an interesting castle in Saumur that was built in 900 A.D. For more information, check out: https://www.loirevalleyfrance.net/places/saumur.html

The Loire Valley is a wine and château county with a plethora of fairytale castles to explore. We hope you take this opportunity to discover the region.
