Things To Do

Things to Do on Lake Garda’s East Coast (Verona Side) The east coast of Lake Garda is a dreamy blend of lakeside charm, medieval towns, markets, wine trails, and beautiful views. Whether you're cycling from town to town, lounging on the beach, or taking in a bit of history, there’s something for everyone. Here’s a guide to help you make the most of your time.

Local Markets: Colourful, Lively & Full of Treasures

Markets are a must-do in this region. They’re perfect for finding local food, crafts, leather goods, and souvenirs. Bardolino: General market every Thursday morning, a small evening market on Tuesdays in summer, and a monthly antiques and vintage market on the third Sunday. Cisano: A smaller summer market on Tuesday mornings. Lazise: Vibrant market every Wednesday morning, plus a Saturday market in nearby Pacengo. Summer Night Markets: Often held in Bardolino and Lazise—ideal for browsing under the stars with music and a glass of local wine in hand.

Lakeside Cycling & Walking Path

A beautiful flat cycle and pedestrian path connects Lazise, Cisano, Bardolino, and up to Garda. Rent a bike or enjoy a leisurely walk as you pass olive groves, vineyards, and scenic beaches with plenty of opportunities to stop for coffee, wine, or photos along the way.

Day Trip to Verona: Romance & Roman History

Only about 45 minutes away by car or bus, Verona makes a fantastic day trip. Walk through Roman arenas, climb the Lamberti Tower for panoramic views, toss a coin at Juliet’s balcony, and indulge in shopping, gelato, and historic charm around every corner. It's an ideal mix of culture and romance.

Sirmione - Garda

Sirmione - Garda, Italy

A day trip to Sirmione is a must while you're on Lake Garda. This postcard-perfect town sits on a narrow peninsula jutting into the lake, known for its fairytale castle, cobbled streets, and thermal springs. You can explore the medieval Scaliger Castle, wander up to the ancient Roman ruins of Grotte di Catullo, or simply enjoy a gelato while taking in stunning lake views. With charming shops, lakeside cafés, and a relaxed holiday vibe, it’s the perfect blend of history, beauty, and bliss. Arrive by boat for an unforgettable entrance!

Santuario Madonna della Corona

This is one of Italy’s most awe-inspiring pilgrimage sites, built into the rock and offering a hauntingly beautiful presence that seems suspended between heaven and earth. Nestled remarkably into the cliffs of Monte Baldo, the sanctuary stands at around 774–775 meters above sea level, suspended dramatically above the Adige Valley.

Monte Baldo

Take in breathtaking views of Lake Garda with a ride on the Monte Baldo cable car, which runs from Malcesine up to the peaks of Monte Baldo at over 1,700 metres. The journey includes a rotating cabin, giving you panoramic views of the lake, surrounding mountains, and alpine meadows. At the top, you’ll find walking trails, wildflowers, and stunning photo opportunities—perfect for a refreshing hike or simply soaking in the scenery.

Taste Local Wines & Olive Oils

The region around Bardolino is dotted with vineyards and olive groves. Enjoy tastings at family-run wineries and sample Garda DOP olive oil - light, fruity, and award-winning.
