Val and Jolie met playing volleyball back in 2014, but they became inseparable when Val had to help Jolie when she got her hair caught in the net after an overzealous attempt at a hit. Val was a firsthand witness for all of Jolie’s awkward high school experiences and it created a bond that will stand the test of time. Jolie couldn’t imagine getting married with anyone else by her side as her maid of honor.
Cristobal Malagon
Best Man
Cristobal and Will met in 2017 at a pep rally when they were assigned to hip thrust next to each other, and instead were thrusted into each other’s hearts. From living together during the pandemic to picnics at Salt Creek, their bromance is Jolie’s only threat. Will is beyond excited to get married with Cristobal by his side, even if he isn’t the one in the white dress.
Katin Gorsline

Growing up with 4 sisters, you would think that Katin would jump at the chance to make a boy friend. However, Katin and Jolie met on the first day of Kindergarten and decided that they were going to be best friends forever. Little did he know that he would have to put up with her endless teasing and, although untraditional, one day be a bridesman in her wedding. Jolie feels so lucky to have Katin be part of her life.
Mia Bondy

Mia is Jolie’s first friend. Living across the street from each other made both families very close, and that connection grew even when her family moved to a different neighborhood. Despite never going to school together, Mia and Jolie would get together and it was as though no time had passed. When Jolie thinks of Mia, she remembers birthday parties, Fourth of July, and two little girls dancing to Taylor Swift in Mia’s bedroom. Whenever Jolie imagined her wedding growing up, she imagined Mia with her and it is one of her softest and sweetest joys that it is actually happening.

Steph and Jolie met when Jolie started working at Trader Joe’s and some of Jolie’s favorite memories have Steph right by her side. A certain kind of love grows in the mundane and that is something that Jolie feels with Steph so strongly. From running errands together to working together, Jolie loves every moment she gets to spend with Steph even if those moments are farther between with Steph living in Washington now.
Mandy Rojas-Healy

If you see Jolie on her phone, she’s probably texting Mandy. Mandy and Jolie are so fun together that Mandy had to move to Eugene just to give anybody else a chance, or to start a life with Matthew Healy after getting married to him. Mandy’s steady yet chaotic energy has become such a constant in Jolie’s life that she is ecstatic to have her in her wedding.
Jared Disbrow

When Will first met Jared in 2021, he was so quiet and hardworking. Although hardworking still applies, Jolie and Will can confidently say that quiet no longer does. Jared is a true friend, a loyal ride-or-die, and someone that can make anyone laugh. He is the recipient of many eye rolls, but Jared and Will together are the highlight of any memory. Will is very grateful to have Jared join him on this special day.

A friendship that bloomed in Freshman year lacrosse, Jake swooped in like a superhero to help Will do pushups during summer camp. Jake’s caring heart has been at the forefront of his personality ever since and Will is so thankful to have such a good friend. Look out for his high energy on the dance floor ladies!

Will’s favorite thing about Jake is how intentional he is. Jake gives you his full attention when you talk to him and he has a special way of making you feel important. He is a very present person, always looking to live life to the fullest in each moment. Will loves spending time with Jake because it is always an adventure and recenters on what in life is most important.
Aaron Arellano

Our favorite TV personality is a morning reporter in Eugene! Although distance may separate them now, Aaron and Will met during a dance competition at Trabuco Hills High School. TBDC started as a group of friends and ended as a group of brothers. Aaron’s larger than life personality is infectious and he turns every moment into a memory. His boisterous laughter is an extremely welcome addition to the wedding.
Matthew Healy

Jolie and Matt met on Jolie’s first day at Trader Joe’s and his welcoming energy and excitement made him a fast friend. The group of friends formed through the Aliso Trader Joe’s (Matt, Mandy, Steph, and Katin to name a few) shaped Jolie into the woman she is today. Matt radiates such positivity and joy that Will and Jolie couldn’t imagine anyone else as their officiant.
