In the fall of 2011, two college students decided to go to their first music festival with friends. Excitedly, they both had countdowns written on the whiteboard outside of their apartment. One day, Stephanie’s roommate told her that the neighbors down the hall were counting down to the same event as well. For some reason, Stephanie felt compelled to write a note and left them a message saying that she was a fellow neighbor going to that event and she hoped they’d have a good time, but never signed her name or what apartment she lived in. On October 29th, in a crowd of thousands of people, two groups of friends ended up near each other at the festival. “Hey, these people go to Cal Poly Pomona too!,” and so, Kyle and Stephanie were introduced. While chatting and introducing themselves, they discovered that they both lived on campus, in the same building, on the same floor. After sharing their apartment numbers, they realized they were actually neighbors and Stephanie excitedly told Kyle that she was the one who had left the anonymous note outside his door. The two groups eventually parted ways and Stephanie was left with a great story to tell her roommate about her encounter with “the cute neighbor”...then the rest is history. And so, on the (almost) 11 year anniversary of the day they met, these two coincidental neighbors will become husband and wife. ——————————————————————————————————————— En el otoño de 2011, dos estudiantes universitarios decidieron ir a su primer festival de música con amigos. Emocionados, ambos tenían cuentas atrás escritas en la pizarra blanca fuera de sus apartamentos. Un día, la compañera de habitación de Stephanie le dijo que los vecinos también estaban haciendo una cuenta atrás para el mismo evento. Por alguna razón, Stephanie se sintió inclinada a escribir una nota y les dejó un mensaje diciendo que ella era una vecina que también iba a ese evento y que deseaba que se lo pasaran bien, pero nunca firmó con su nombre ni en qué apartamento vivía. El 29 de octubre, entre una multitud de miles de personas, dos grupos de amigos acabaron cerca uno del otro en el festival. "¡Oye, esta gente también va a Cal Poly Pomona!", y así, Kyle y Stephanie fueron introducidos. Mientras conversaban y se introducían, descubrieron que ambos vivían en el campus, en el mismo edificio, en el mismo piso. Después de compartir los números de sus apartamentos, se dieron cuenta de que en realidad eran vecinos y Stephanie le dijo a Kyle con entusiasmo que ella era la que había dejado la nota anónima enfrente de su puerta. Los dos grupos eventualmente se separaron y Stephanie se quedó con una gran historia para contarle a su compañera de habitación sobre su encuentro con " el vecino guapo"... y el resto es historia. Y así, en el (casi) 11 aniversario del día en que se conocieron, estos dos vecinos coincidentes se convertirán en esposo y esposa.
