We're married! On Sunday, May 3, in the company of our parents and siblings, we tied the knot! Please view our wedding gallery to see our favorite photos from our wedding day. Unfortunately, because of COVID we have to make another tough choice to limit our wedding reception on August 30th to a small group of family and friends. For those that we're able to invite, you should have received your invitation in the mail. Please be sure to RSVP by August 14th (click on RSVP tab above). For our extended family and friends that we are not able to celebrate with at this time, we appreciate your grace as we make these difficult decisions. Jonathan and April first met at their church’s young adult ministry that April was a part of that Jonathan decided to try out one night. They both noticed each other at different times but didn’t officially meet until Jonathan mustered up the courage to get April’s name. Jonathan did not realize even after getting her name that this was the girl that his parents had tried to set him up on a date with a few months prior. Jonathan still just thought April was a pretty girl that he wanted to get to know better. The night after getting her name he realized the connection and used that to start a conversation that would never end. April was living in Rio Verde at the time, which is about an hour away, but that didn’t stop Jonathan from spending as much quality time with her as possible. During the next month, Jonathan and April started to get to know each other better and develop feelings. They learned that they had very similar values and a like-mindedness in their faith in God. They also balanced each other in a lot of great ways and they realized that they had a strong desire to continue growing in life together. On April 29th 2019, Jonathan and April officially began to pursue one another in a dating relationship. Over the next five months, their relationship deepened and they started to think about what life would be like together.

In November of 2019, Jonathan and April came to the conclusion that they wanted to pursue life together. After thinking and praying as well as taking steps in the direction of marriage they both felt like God was blessing their desires. Since they had been talking and praying about it, Jonathan wanted to make the actual question a surprise. After quietly receiving a blessing from April’s parents, Jonathan went on a quest to quickly but romantically surprise his girlfriend with a special proposal. April’s love for her family’s farm made it easy for him to decide where to propose to this beautiful woman. There was a prayer garden at the center of it where he decided he would pop the question. On December 8th 2019, Jonathan planned to go out to dinner with April and his parents at the restaurant near the garden with a plan to walk through the neighborhood to look at Christmas lights afterwards. Jonathan knew that if they walked by the prayer garden on the way to see the Christmas lights that he could convince April to walk in. After having some family and friends decorate the space and light candles, Jonathan and April started walking over to the garden. Upon their arrival, April noticed a sign that said the prayer garden was closed for a private event. Jonathan tried to convince April that since nobody else was around that they should sneak in for a quick picture. April was very hesitant to go in because she felt she was intruding on someone else’s private event, not knowing it was actually for her. After some encouragement but without giving away the entire secret, Jonathan convinced April to walk into the decorated prayer garden. April started to realize something was up and suddenly Jonathan dropped to one knee and asked the girl of his dreams to marry him. She said yes!
