Things To Do

We're so excited to share a few of our favorite places to visit around Whidbey Island!

The Bluff Trail at Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve

Whidbey Island, Washington, Parking lot, Ebey's Landing Rd, Coupeville, WA 98239

This is one of our favorite hikes we would go on when Eric first moved to Coupeville, WA. We have enjoyed many laughs, sunsets, and even surprise wine dates (planned by Eric) here, and we hope you will too! If you park at Ebey's Landing Road, you can complete this easy 3.6-mile loop hike with gorgeous views of the coast in about 1–1.5 hours.

Washington Park

6300 Sunset Ave, Anacortes, WA 98222

Whether you're looking for a simple walk among the trees with ocean views, a peaceful spot to have a picnic, or a place to gather around the campfire and enjoy some drinks with smores, Washington Park is the place to be! We have enjoyed many morning walks with coffee in hand, late-night hangouts around the fire with friends and spending a majority of our evenings watching sunsets with boats and dolphins passing by. Morning, day or night, rain or shine, Washington Park never disappoints!

Cap Sante

1000 W Ave, Anacortes, WA 98221

Cape Sante overlooks the city of Anacortes and its harbor, and on a sunny day you can see Mount Baker. On a windy day, we have seen up to 6 bald eagles in the sky above us, so if seeing a bald eagle or two is on your bucket list, this is the place to be!

Bowman Bay, Deception Pass State Park

4402 Bowman Bay Road, Anacortes, WA 98221

This is the #1 place we recommend people to visit when they are in Anacortes. It has spectacular views all around, including the Deception Pass Bridge, a perfect place to sit at picnic tables to share a GERE-a-DELI sandwich by the beach, moderate hikes, and if you're lucky, you can spot harbor seals, sea otters, and dolphins! This truly is a beautiful spot to enjoy a summer day.

GERE-a-DELI

502 Commercial Avenue, Anacortes, WA 98221
, (360) 293-7383

GERE-a-DELI isn’t your average sandwich shop! If you’re searching for a spot where all the locals go to get lunch, this is the place. They have everything from salads to sandwiches (hot or cold) to delectable desserts! We usually pack our bags with lunch and plenty of snacks for our hikes and fishing trips, but when we want to treat ourselves to a savory, scrumptious treat, we head to GERE-a-DELI. Gabriella’s go-to sandwich is the “Some Like It Hot,” saving the horseradish for Eric. Eric’s favorite sandwich is a hot “Supremo,” with the in-house-made horseradish. BEWARE: you do not need a lot of horseradish; we’ve learned the hard way.

Toby's Tavern

8 Front Street Northwest, Coupeville, WA 98239
, (360) 678-4222

Toby's Tavern is a Coupeville favorite! Enjoy delicious seafood bites, sandwiches, and burgers paired with excellent beers and a view of the Coupeville Wharf. If you stop by, the calamari with aioli is a must-have! Anytime we are in Coupeville, we have to stop by for that and a good beer. NOTE: Only individuals aged 21 or older are permitted to enter.

Union Tavern

902 Commercial Avenue, Anacortes, WA 98221
, (360) 873-8245

If you're interested in a tasty pint, grab a beer or hard cider at Union Tavern! It's the best spot to try one of the 18 local beverages they have on tap, and it never disappoints. This is definitely one of the best spots downtown to drink and socialize with friends.

The Brown Lantern Alehouse

412 Commercial Avenue, Anacortes, WA 98221
, (360) 293-2544

Are you interested in live music and great food and drinks? Then look no further; The Brown Lantern is the spot to be! This is Gabriella and Eric's go-to spot to grab some wings and listen to entertaining local bands on Saturdays. AND you're in luck, Saturday, June 6th there will be live music playing from 9:00pm to midnight! This is a great spot if you want to continue the wedding celebration longer into the night.

Whistle Lake

Anacortes, WA 98221

Eric's writing this one bub! Friggin' go here to catch a Big Beasly trout! It's my sacred trout fishing spot. Caught a few hogs here if I do say so myself! Also there's some sweet cliffs you can leap off of. As John Marquez once said, "when in trouble, tuck for double"

Ben Root Skatepark

Anacortes, WA 98221

Sweet pump track. Lemme know if you want to take my carver skateboard to it and give her a rip

Mount Erie

Anacortes, WA 98221

If you're an athlete you'll run the whole way to the top

Fort Ebey State Park

400 Hill Valley Drive, Coupeville, WA 98239

Pretty cool old army fort with bunkers and whatnot. Also, when the swell is coming from the W/NW you can surf here at Point Partridge

Fort Casey State Park

1280 Engle Road, Coupeville, WA 98239

Fort Casey is the perfect place to check out a piece of Washington history with gorgeous views of the Olympic Mountains and Mount Baker! This spot is the perfect place to roam the historic military batteries, have a picnic, fly kites, explore the lighthouse and museum, and bask in the summer sun. We love this area and we hope you do too!
