Mount Washington is the go-to spot for the classic Pittsburgh Panorama. Make your own postcard with the city skyline as your background, and enjoy a nice walk along Grandview Avenue and Shiloh Street. As a bonus, ride the Monongahela or Duquesne Incline to and from Station Square!
The Strip District is a historic marketplace that stretches about 20 parallel blocks along Penn Ave. and Smallman St. We recommend starting at 20th and Penn to check out Pennsylvania Macaroni (Penn Mac), then visiting Grandpa Joe's Candy and Mon Aimee Chocolat (both on 21st), and Leaf & Bean on 22nd for great cigars and coffee. Next, head over to 24th and Smallman to the Wigle Whiskey Distillery (their gin is great, too!) and back down to Kaya on 20th and Smallman for some tropical bites and refreshments. The Strip is also a Pittsburgher's haven for all things memorabilia and souvenirs!
Create your own bicycle tour of Pittsburgh with rental bikes! There are bicycle stations all over the city, and they are available for rent in 30-minute increments. Notable paths include a train from Point State Park downtown to the Strip District, and from Squirrel Hill to Oakland, passing through Schenley Park.
Phipps is one of our favorite places and a must-see! This Victorian-style greenhouse has over 20 different rooms with themes that change throughout the year. Visit Phipps to be transported all around the world in a few hours!
Eleven is a contemporary American restaurant inside of a former warehouse, with a beautiful balance of industrial and modern decor. While the dining room offers a more romantic fine-dining feel, the bar offers the same great service with a more relaxed atmosphere and more casual fare. Must-tries are the oysters, burger, and world-class wine selections!
