Ordinary places become special when they’re “date places” and this is where we had our first date lunch.
Went here on our first date!
Another stop on our first date; we watched one of the Harry Potter movies.

-Good way to kill an hour in the evenings -good event for couples or groups -we needed a lot of help and still lost but we had fun! They said we did well for our first time!
-a close-to-home spot for movies; about 10-15 minute drive from Nitro area (New Goff Mtn Rd is a good shortcut there) -also near Walmart, Buffalo Wild Wings, Burke’s Outlet, Lowe’s, and Staples.
Going bowling is our inside joke; we’ve wanted to since our first date but “COVID business hours” among other reasons/excuses since then have made it challenging. Lol But we finally got around to it by our first dating anniversary!
Our favorite breakfast spot. This is a restaurant chain exclusive to WV, OH, and KY. There’s even a handful between Kanawha and Putnam Counties alone. -hours may vary by store
-Beautiful new trails for walking/hiking! -Local fishing spot -Playground areas for kids -also a fenced dog park area (possibly unavailable due to renovation)
Katie lives across the bridge from here. So Jacob parks his truck at the shopping center across the street when he comes through town. We've shared some work-break lunches here. -Playground area for kids -camper parking -Memorial monuments and gardens
-Close to the suggested hotels and a couple of the truck stops (see travel tag) -includes: Hallmark, Aldi, Advanced AutoZone, a pet store, a dollar store, beauty salons, sportswear and memorabilia stores, Anytime Fitness, Planet Fitness, Panera Bread, Applebees, and Bob Evans -For needs outside of this shopping center, Kroger’s, Wal-Mart, MedExpress, and a few chain drug stores are also nearby
