We met in high school! John was a sophomore and I was a freshman on the cross country team in 2015. The first year we knew each other we were just friends - I even helped set him up with his first girlfriend. In the fall of 2016 we realized we might like each other and he had the great idea to ask me to homecoming. He decided the best place would be at the finish line of his race. I was definitely excited to be asked there (evidence in the photo tab). Homecoming was fun! But as many high school relationships go we were too awkward and eventually stopped talking to each other. I realized though that I made a mistake and really missed John. By the time summer 2017 came around we were back to being friends (who definitely still liked each other)! We were too scared to say anything for a while but thankfully another homecoming came around, and John asked me to go (luckily not at the end of his race again)! A few days later we decided to finally officially be a couple!
