"We met in the Masai region of Kenya on a mission trip." At least, that’s the tagline we like to go with—because while it sounds like something out of a Christian rom-com, no one is even remotely surprised when they hear it. It kind of summarises us so well. The truth? We actually met on a CMF Global track (missions) course, spending 18 months in the same rooms, same discussions, same everything… and somehow, we just never properly crossed paths. Apparently, all it took was being 1,000 miles away from the UK and crammed into a five-hour bus ride from Nairobi to Narok County. That’s where it began—Johnny grilling Will about his hobbies (a.k.a. conducting an impromptu interrogation). From there, things unfolded in a series of small, meaningful moments—shared laughs, acts of kindness, and Johnny remaining completely oblivious to Will’s very subtle attempts at wooing. In fact the flirting was so mild that Johnny didn’t even realise it was happening. Upon returning to the UK, the inevitable happened: Will put his road bike in the back of his car and drove all the way to Sheffield… just to go 'cycling' for an afternoon. One afternoon turned into a few more weekend trips, and eventually, on a windy cliff in the Peak District, we made it official. And, as they say, the rest is history. 😃
