Here's to Forever

It all began with a chance glimpse in August of 2014. Johnny first noticed Vy at Marian Days/Dai Hoi Thanh Mau in Carthage, Missouri, where more than 30,000 fellow Vietnamese Catholics come to celebrate Mother Mary. Though they didn’t officially meet at that time, Vy made a lasting impression on Johnny, so much so that when he saw her in a photo with their mutual friend (and now bridesmaid!) Huyen, he couldn’t resist adding her on Instagram. Johnny was too shy to message Vy though... A year later, fate worked its magic at a TNTT training camp/Cap Mot in Illinois where members gathered to train to be future youth leaders. What were the odds that Johnny and Vy found themselves on the same team!!! What started as a message about an assignment quickly turned into something much more. By the end of camp, Johnny mustered the courage to write Vy a letter sharing his feelings, and she couldn’t help but feel the same. In September 2015, after months of talking and countless shared laughs, they made it official—even though it meant navigating the challenges of long-distance, college, and life. In September 2023, Johnny proposed to Vy on a beautiful beach in Cancun, Mexico, with their closest friends cheering them on. It was the perfect beginning to forever, and now they can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you!
