Steph and Johnny first met in 2012 at Green Tomato Café, where they both worked on Chicago’s West Side in the North Lawndale community. They felt the chemistry right away and soon began dating. Six months later, Johnny proposed, and they were married just three months later. Within their first year of marriage, they were expecting their first daughter. A couple of years later, they welcomed their second daughter. Although they truly loved each other, they faced significant turbulence in their marriage, and in 2021 they officially divorced and began their journey of co-parenting. The years apart were challenging and placed a strain on the entire family. During that time, they each focused on exploring, rediscovering themselves, healing, and growing. In the spring of 2025, after witnessing each other’s growth and development, they felt drawn to one another. As they reconnected, they realized they were both ready to try again. Through their personal growth and healing, they came to understand that nothing is more important than loving each other unconditionally, legacy, building a strong foundation, and remaining committed to the vision that God has for their family. Today, Stephanie and Johnny have reunited to raise their two beautiful daughters, build a lasting legacy, and live a life united in Christ; demonstrating the beauty and strength of a restored family.
